Original Greddy Evo

Does anyone have the original greddy evo for their max? Also if you do can you please post a pic of what it looks like in the back. Also how long will it last if I buy one used that is about 1 1/2 years old and has some rust, and how loud is it above stock? Any info would be helpful... thanks!

I had one for about 6 months... it had been through one winter in IA was starting to rust around the resonator.... if you're in PA, I doubt it'll last that long because those things are aluminized steel and not stainless. Anywhere in the south you'd be okay, but if its already that old and is starting to rust, ya might wanna wait till its spring to install it. And let me just say that the aluminized steel that this was made of, is NOT as durable as the aluminized steel that the OEM parts are made of... it looked much worse than the OEM cat-back even though I had 32k miles on the OEM.

It is considerably louder than stock and it drones in the cabin up till about 2500 rpms. Beyond that its fine. People say its ricey, but I disagree... its sounds ricey on Civics but it sounds good on a 6 cylinder engine... that is of course, just my opinion. I do miss the throatiness, and the volume sometimes when I wanna be obnoxious . As for looks, I always thought it looked kinda big... I like the GReddy SP2 a lot better in terms of looks, the Evo was always just okay.

I don't have a good pic of it on my car... this is the best I have...

Found some pics of someone else's Max with it....

Btw, it looks much better if ya have a rear valence... couple people on here used to have that and I loved the way it looked cuz the bumper hid the huge can...

i got the evo 1, it sounds sick it dusnt drone after 3000 rpm, all u can hear is intake then, looks real good, mine has a little ruston it but its just surface rust, just run it through the car wash and get an undercairage wash once a week, even stainless steel rusts up here

Mines rusting around resonater bad. Everything else looks ok. Once everything starts falling apart I will either get the Evo2 or a SS dual tip exhaust.

It seems that only the b-pipe (around the resonator) is the one that gives rust problems... my rear section was fine...

Chicago winters you can expect it to last bout 5-6 years. I have had a Greddy SP on my SE-R before and the resonator started to leak after about 5 years. Rear muffler is stainless and will not rust.

No problem... just giving credit where its due , cuz I think its a cool vid... plus you're the only one I know with an "action video" of the Max with a GReddy cuz people are always asking how it sounds....

I saw this vid when you firsted posted it about doing auto-x... I didn't know it was a greddy... thanks.

After looking at the greddy's on the max's I think im going to have to go with something else. I think the tip is to big and I will have rust problems in PA. Any suggestions?

I've had my EVO1 sitting in my garage for a while now. I've been wanting to sell it, but I don't have a box to put it in. There's rust around the resonator like everyone else has, but the rest is good. I love the sound, just needed a smaller muffler. 2kmaximaSE, how far are you from the Ohio boarder? Maybe if you're interested, we can arrange something.

BTW, old pics of it are on my page.
