Round Metal Cover in Gas Tank???

I went to put Seafoam into my tank b4 i filled up with gas on saturday and i bent over to see if i could push open the round silver metal cover that the nozzle at the tank pushes in so the Seafoam wouldnt spill everywhere and the little thing is gone...it had to have broken off or is stuck in whatever position it opens up to when the nozzle is inside the tank. Has this happened to any1 where it gets stuck or breaks off inside the tank. I know it wont harm anything since it is probably just at the bottom of the tank. Or has anyone's become stuck in the open position in whatever direction it goes?

Mine broke off too, a few years ago. It's in the tank. No big deal though.

true but i think the gas cap does that quite well...i felt around that hole and it was not stuck in whatever position it assumes when the nozzle pushes it in so i now know it broke off but i dont know when..o well

This is an old topic, but consensus was that Nissan stopped putting that part on cars, ie decontenting, after early 2000s.

If anyone has a 2001 or later with one, let me know, because I don't.

I don't have one either and I never paid any attention to it until now.
