Good idea or looks crapy?

I am sure some people have them and I was wondering on opinions. unfortuantly Civics and Celicas are the fricken craze where I live and I am sick of seeing the steriotypical rice look up here so I was wondering who has A-pillar Gauge pods and if they look ricey. I plan to put actual Useful Guages in mine such as Oil Pressure Fuel Pressure and Voltage.

What are your ideas and where can I get one for a good price I have a light gray interior with components. and i was looking for indeglo gauges

Whatever you like. I think too many gauges looks bad and is frustrating. Sometimes less is more if you know what i mean. How often are you going to check the voltage and fuel pressure when you are driving down the street?

I wouldn't spend the money on guages unless I was running a high power application (i.e. turbo or nitrous) for example, I would want to monitor air-fuel ratio when running a turbo to make sure that the engine's getting enough fuel and not running too lean. Put the money towards something useful like a CAI or y-pipe.

so you think ricers use their gauge that is not useful?
i bet those civics prob have the same deal as you... oil temp, fuel press (something useful....)
itll look nice if you had turbo, then you can get boost press, fuel air ratio,....ect, why would you want to check your oil press, fuel? are you goin racing? well if its REALLY useful to ya, then maybe you should get it. but for looks, i think its rice.

Ok, so let's say you put the pods in - then what? Do you know what nominal operating conditions are? And what you would need to do when the conditions fluctuate?

Gauges can be useful when needed...but if you are getting them for purley cosmetic purposes, you should tack it into the category of 5th gen projectors, plastic bodykits, and cold air intakes.

whats wrong with a CAI??? i think they work great with a y-pipe!! or even headers!! and body kits arent my thing too, but those lip kits are pretty nice, keeps the factory look but a little different from others.

well fo me i go on long drives often i am back and forth between my house and sacramento about 130 miles each way and i usually end up racing when i am there
i do have a CAI and soon i plan on going for a Ypipe and exhaust (magnaflow) the voltage will be a good guage for me because i plan on rnning a sound system and i want to make sure i have a constant charge. I wouldnt be even thinking of that but my friend just blew his altenator and didnt know it for two weeks as for oil pressure I drive my car hard and if i mess something up i want to know. and i personally dont like the lok of just two guages on it so fuel pressure would be the next most practicle thing in my eyes.

How about we all keep our car 100% factory.

IMO, you don't need gauges unless you are boosting or juicing
