Upgraded Nissan emblem on the front grille of my AE (pics)....

Was browsing ebay a couple of weeks ago and found this brand new Nissan emblem for $5.20 shipped. I figured for 5 bucks, if I didn't like it that it wouldn't be that big a deal, so I went ahead an bought it. Well I can definitely say that I am glad I bought it because I think it looks slick! It fits perfectly and looks a heck of a lot better than the old, flat, ugly '01 front emblem.

Let me know what you think.

All you have to do is search for "Nissan emblem" on ebay and there will be more than enough for you to choose from. Most of these emblems go for about 12-13 shipped, but I lucked out and got mine for around 5.

BTW-to remove the old emblem I used a hair dryer to heat it up for about 5 mins and then it came out like a charm. The new emblem I was sent had industrial grade double sided tape on it so it was real easy to put on.

I guess I have to see it in person because I can't really tell the difference. Maybe it's this tiny monitor

Well, for one, the little plastic inserts in the middle of the circle of the old emblem arent there on the new and the chrome of the new emblem is quite a bit thicker than the old.

The difference between the two is that the emblem on the second one has a thicker ring and has a shortened NISSAN logo which results in the letters protruding from the left and right sides of the circumference.*

*Note: Sonner posted the closeup before I was able to post this, so no 'captain obvious' flames, please!

It looks awesome compared to the old bland hamburger. Now consider painting your grille black and smoke tinting the emblem like Irish44j did.. Looks awesome that way IMO.

But seriously, for all of you guys interested in doing this, just be patient looking around on Ebay and you will have a good deal pop up.

Ya but the emblem on the back of yours is considerably smaller and definitely more difficult to find. I have searched and searched and still haven't found one at a decent price. I am hoping to find one soon to match the emblem on the front.

BTW-off subject question here for ya, but where did you locate your transmission ground wire? I have pictures of a ninth wire I ran to a point labeled V3, but not sure if that actually does anything.
