I have this button under the hood near the driver side headlight. I have never been able to figure out what it does and was hoping someone could tell me.

I'm guessing some sort of alarm thing but what I have the alarm on and open the hood nothing happens so I'm not sure.

Pease tell me what this darned contraption is???

 

if its a rubber round button then that is what the front of the hood rests on. you can turn it to adjust the height. you should have one on both sides if we are talking about the same thing.

 

I only got 1 the 1 on the driver side.....I've always wondered WTF that was

 

it's called a hood switch. it's part of the theft warning system. if you have an esm, consult page 277 in the electrical section.

 

what the heck is an esm, yest I'm talking about the button not the thing to change the hight of the hood.

So its for the alarm ay? How come it doesn't work??? Ever since I got my max that button has never done anyting???

 

that little button is connect 2 the alarm...if the hood is opened it goes off....it went off on me last week when I left the alarm on.....good thing it was only 3am so i didnt wake up the neighbors

set your alarm with your hood popped. after a while, your alarm should go off.

Oh now I know my hood button doesnt work !

 

the button is a horsepower button - the more you push it the more horsepower your engine gets - just spend like a saturday or sunday just pushing the button all day and then take it for a spin , watch how fast your car is afterwards-
