Just get on www.car-part.com, search for the tranny you want, and start calling numbers and asking if they still have the car they took the tranny out of. When i did my conversion i found a AE tranny still in the car with everything i needed. Just try to talk them down and get a good price for everything. I can dig up the parts list for you if you need it. What tranny are you going with? o and hows that exhaust cut-out project going?

this is from BlackBIRDVQ:
shifter assembly with all the rods. te drivers side tranny mount, flywheel with the crank position sensor ring gear (bolts up to the back of the flywheel), new clutch of you choice- Exedy Racing highly recomended, 5Qts of Redline MT90 or ShockProof Medium, cross member will also be needed- thats the big steel piece that goes under the car and holds the engine mounts on. You will need the clutch MASTER cylinder, slave cylinder, and the clutch lines, brake pedal assembly and clutch pedal assembly. Your OD light will flash for the 1st few min of engine runing with a 5spd tranny.

are these manual tranny swaps reliable if installed correctly or is it just never gonna be the same as if it was from the factory?

Here's the parts list:
5spd tranny (try and get the I30 LSD or Canadian Maxima LSD if possible – doubt it)
Both Manual drive shafts (if you have ABS you need specific ones, if you don't have ABS you can use ABS ones)
1 clutch kit (clutch disc, pressure plate, throw out bearing)
2 shifting rods (support rod + control rod) (acquire used w/ all the hardware)
Return spring (connect to the 2 shifting rods (Buy this new, the stiffer the tighter your shifter feels)
1 5spd starter
1 shifter (Acquire used to get nuts and bolts (buy with the shifter rods)
1 shifter console piece (interior)
1 shift consul bracket (Replaces your auto one) (interior) (dealer name plate bolt and transaxle hole cover)
1 brake pedal
1 clutch pedal
1 master cylinder
Hydraulic lines for clutch
1 slave cylinder for clutch
1 extra set of tranny harnesses (might come w/ 5spd tranny)
1 18ga wire and wiretaps
Assorted cotter pin set.
1 Manual Fly wheel
1 Manual motor mount
Tranny Fluid (GL-4 or redline is preferable)
Locking pin and clip for the clutch pedal to the master cylinder (you could bend a nail but I would go to the dealer and pay $4)
2 nuts that fit the threads on the clutch pedal.
1 bolt that bolts in the top of the clutch pedal
1 bolt that connects the control rod to the tranny

If you have a place that can build you a custom 50/50 differential you should do what dixit did and use a cheap 4th gen tranny and axels with a custom differential. That way you dont have to pay a fortune for an AE tranny and dont have to worry about finding AE vlsd axels when you break one, which is a real pain in the asz.

They are just as reliable as factory, if not more when installed with better clutch and flywheel. You need to find a competent mechanic who knows Maximas, don't bother doing a 6spd conversion unless ya know what the hell you are getting into... and trust me cause I've done it for someone who decided in one evening he wants to swap out.

Frisco, thanx for the comment I always go for the understated look with mild aero accents that make the car look very aggressive- more so than any other body kit you can get.

it's just nuts and bolts.. unbolt the auto, and bolt on the manual.. hahahah simple. just make sure u torque everything down correclty, get a snap on or craftsman torque wrench, the cheap brand ones might not be as reliable. and if u have one already and have been using it for a while, might wanna get it recallibrated, especially if it's been dropped.

some things are missing from the list.
manual axel bracket
driver side axel
manual flywheel spacer
manual flywheel bolts (it's different for the auto)
bolts for the pressure plate. (this and the botls for the flywheel should be purchased new, it's been said on many other forums that these bolts shouldn't be reused)
manual ecu
for 5th gens, u gotta buy a manual gauge cluster trim to hide the gear selector indicator

B, i'll repost if i remember nething else.
