Thanks for asking...

I've got some perforated stock grills created (3 of them), I have not sent any out for machining out of a thick piece of stock, I have to re-coupe some cost that has been put into this so far by selling a couple of the thinner ones. I am expecting the arrival of 15 expanded metal grills this week. I have the brackets ready for them to intall on the cars, I also have the studs that I'm going to weld onto the back of the grills to make them adjustable. I'll put up pics on my cardomain site when I get the expanded material cut and put on my car.

please see here for current grill

Let me know if anyone would wan a grill like this for a 5.5 gen, I'm thinking of making one similar to this.

I would be interested in both of those. Maybe the first overall.

I thought about this, but where can you get the carbon fiber material from?

I know a guy here in Hawaii who makes custom carbon fiber parts for cars. I was thinking about designing a grill to make the front look more like a Skyline. Smaller intake shroud with grill, instead of the large opening we have now.

I've gotten my new plates in for the grill project, I think this one is the better looking of the two, That may just be me though. Please see the web page below and go to the bottom to check out pics. this style will be in a customizable kit, you'll be able to paint the backing plate whatever color you wish, or leave it aluminum, I can also sandblast the front piece so that is can be painted by the customer.

Thanks,

dg

I think the way the Audi Grill looks hot, especially if we can get something like that and also paint it to match our maxima's.

or the Infiniti's M Grille

Or the G35 Coupes Grille

i don't know about the audi but i do like the G35 grille and ours kinda looks like the M one already. as for your custom grille it's pretty cool but is it possible to make it sorta buldge out more. and not sit so flush? i don't know how else to say what i'm trying to get across. i guess more like the street scenes grille.

Edit:

Btw!! props to ya DGreggain... as irish44j said, "but being original is always a good thing" and "this is getting more and more interesting to see someone actually CREATING something with actual engineering tools..." i use AutoCAD 2k4 regularly... not sure if it's the same CAD proggy as you... anyhow! props given, nonetheless!!

----

edit 2:

Irish44J -

common now! us modders use tools that have been developed by engineers to create some things!!! :P [woot! Dremels!]

just messing man! total respect to ya!

----

I still claim the awesomeness that is my custom grille! IMO that is... ... i would love to see a professional version of this grill made... ... (i still have it some where)... anyhow... pic below:

hehe... yeah, the cracked fog blew one of my $50 PIAA Bulbs anyhow, the grille is exactly the same as the factory grille, except with the mesh modded into the grill (of course) - thus, allowing the grille to mount perfectly back on... now that was some engineering for ya!
