help!!!!!!!!!!!

alright guys, heres the scenario...

my girl has the car and she just filled up the tank with gas. she's driving on the highway, she smells something burning and the car shuts down. all of the dash lights come on and she's on the highway. she manages to pull off to the shoulder but thats as far as she got.

this happened tuesday night and have not been able to get the car started since. the engine is turning over. lots of power, lots of gas, but no spark to the plugs. nothing at all.

some guys ran a diagnostic on it today and the result was a bad computer. which seems odd to me and a few others.

any insight would be great. i'm without the max here and it has been the most terrible few days for me.

please anyone?

Why does it seem odd? She smelled something burnning. Could it be the computer(ECU) that burned out?

all of the fuses are perfect. i thought the computer seemed a little odd. i didn't think that it would shut the car down immediately??

It will, you car is basically run by the ECU, if that one fails the car shuts down. Big bucks if it is the ECU

damn, is that a common thing? the computer just croaking like that?

any other suggestions? we are going to swap computers with another max same everything and see what happens.

the only other recent change i can see is the additional module added to the viper starter for standard vehicles. but that was about a month or so ago

take that module out maybe is that module who went bad.. and it is locking the starter........ other than that I think it could be the ECU. Be careful wit swaping ECU's if you have a problem in your car you can fu$k the other one too. Remove the viper module first and try again

When my Sentra ECU started malfunctioning, it shut off 2 out of my 4 cylinders. I guess if it had died completely, the engine would've died.

well issue resolved last night......

apparantly there were some corroded wires that was causing this whole thing! they were located near the battery box.

i'm just glad to be back on the road and happy that it wasn't a load of cash to fix.
