Drivebelts...hmmm

I just had my 2 drivebelts replaced 3 days ago(at 43,400 miles)....when I start the max I hear a loud screeching noise as soon as the car turns over....its happened about 6 times(each time i've started the car)

Are the new belts supposed to do this the first few start ups? Or do I have to go back to Nissan?

New belts should not screech, it could just be that the belts were not tight enough, so the belts slip on the pullies, making them screech. Could cause a problem later on; could slip off if it's realy loose, but that's worse case senario, not to mention it's very annoying. I would go back to the dealer and have that tightend up. Good Luck.

have the dealer tighen them up a bit...too much slack = screeching noise.

Suprised that the Nissan dealer did that ishy of a job on the belt change.
