O2 Sensor Replacement Question.
O2 Sensor Replacement Question.
Ok, I admit I am retarded and can't makeout what I need to know from this: http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/NTB02-051a.pdf
Which one of those is Bank 1, Sensor 2?
I have the sensor in hand and ready to go but I'm lacking on some of the finer points. I google searched the site and found stuff for the previous gen maxima but not much on the 5th gen.
I have a '00 Auto Fed. Spec Maxima.
What tools will I need and where is this monkey located?

Aye, dealer wont cover the O2 sensor for me though, and I suspect thats the problem because I had a bad coil pack, bad set of bosch plugs, then bad tank of gas all within about a two month span of time (I had just lost my job so it took me longer than was really best for me to replace the coil pack), it didnt take nearly that much to kill the O2 sensor on my last car.
While were talking about the TSB, ECM is covered till 80 thousand miles right?
as I mentioned its a '00, it has less than 55k miles on it, so the ECM part they should cover correct?

Eh after looking under the car its going to take more time/effort to get under there than I had planned.
Think I will either take it someplace or wait for a weekend, light runs out here in a bit.
Any suggestions on who would replace the sensor for me (with the one I allready own)?

Any muffler shop/lube joint could throw it on a rack.
However, for a $20 pair of plastic ramps from Walmart, you can easily do it yourself.
Yes, you could have killed the 02 sensor, however that kind of stuff could hurt the cats more.
Did your check engine light EVER flash while you were driving?

I have the pretty much the same issue. The car is throwing P0138/9 (rear o2) errors every few weeks. The car is out of warranty.
Would it be best to try and replace the sensors myself and have the dealer flash the ECU? I heard once there was a kit that "tricked" the ECU so it wouldnt keep throwing this error. What ever happened to this?
