MAF makes 00 Maxima brand new car

I finally installed my MAF sensor in my 00 Max and also cleaned out the TB and boy.....this car is the sports car it was born to be. Since I got it at 86,000 miles it has never been this fast....i hated waiting 10-11 seconds to get to 60 MPH and hated being sooooo slow at highway speeds....it pulls so hard now it i cant explain it...anyway I wanted to thank all the people that helped me over the past few months to lead me to getting the MAF. I would have NEVER figured this out if it wasn't for the org. Thanks again

was the slowness of your car the only thing that tipped you off or were there other symptoms you recall.

Do you mean you got a new MAF or your car didnt have one? Is it a good idea to clean out the TB if it has never been cleaned and I have an 01'?

Sorry for this stupid question, but does MAF mean Max Air Filter? And also, how much did it cost to buy and the install?

no it had hesitation at high RPM and had barely any highway power......yes some 4-cyl cars take 10-11 seconds to get to 60.....yes it is a good idea to clean out the TB whether you replace MF or not..use intake cleaner a toothbrush and a rag.....i had a MAF sensor in the car just the stock ones were made poorly...the new ones are revised and work much better...car is a rocket now NO MORE HESITation!

It anazes me that this one sensor can have such a huge impact on our Max's performance...yet its a well known fact, and we see it almost every day in here. Thankfully at 72k mine has not exhibited any slowness or *******. Makes me think to have one on hand just in case...Seems like its inevitable the sensor will go south eventually.

Is there a thread or anything that shows how to get the throttle body out and clean it?

My 1989 Mercury Topaz (Winter beater) does 0 to 60 in 13 to 14 seconds. I get my *** kicked by housemoms driving Ford Focuses all the time. I even raced an old Toyota Tercel. We both got up to 95 mph and couldn't go any faster

I am kinda impatient to get to drive my (non-working) VQ35-powered 4th gen

Thats for a 99 I believe but it the same for a 2000. Only difference is a few more wires to just move out of the way.
