Removed Mudguards *PICS*
Ok, so I removed them all and only problem I encountered was a type of glue or wax substance along the line that mudguard was on and I'm having a real hard time getting it off ...gas didn't even do it...i can kind of chip away at it with my fingernail but it's not doing too much anymore...any ideas? (every other side was fine and came off perfect except for the rear passenger side)
Here's a quick pic I took . . . http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...8_169_full.jpg |
Have you tried Goo-B-Gone (?) ?
No, but I actually think i have some of that somewhere in the basement
3M rubbing compund. It works wonders. Get the fine grip one and have sompatience and it will get the adhesive off.
brake cleaner... it took off my pinstipes. There is also something called adhesive remover you can get at walmart and it smells like oranges. its in the paint section by the tapes and sandpapers.
good call on the no mudguards. They ugly. I think I did that within a week of getting my car. But I still cringe everytime I go over gravel or salt and hear all of that junk getting thrown up on the side of my car. The things we do to look good...
I'd put them back on..they are there for a reason, but whatever floats your boat.
I have mudguard, I don't think they aren't so bad, at least I am not getting any stone chip on the rockerwell.

yea i still have mine on, but the only thing is, its like paint is wearing off the mudflaps? and i still get mud splashes on the body so its not much of a "mudguard"
Think i might paint my mudguards car color what do u guys think???
It will def make it look nicer but just make sure you can match it well

I didnt like the mudguards at first either because they make the stock wheels/tires look even skinnier.....but now they look real nice with my wider wheels/tires :)
go for 2002/2003 side skirts and mud guards. they look a lot better imo.
also the goo-gone will work wonders on the glue |

I took a few more pics this morning bc it was pretty nice out and you can also tell my H&R/Illuminas have settled a bit over the past two or so months...seems that as it's warmer the setup gets lower due to the shocks being warm maybe...i'm very glad i got the h&r especially now that I got the Stillen Kit bc I could not survive around here with a lower drop and the kit...H&R/Illumina setup rocks hardcore :mardi: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...8_171_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...8_170_full.jpg |
Hey maxilvr06-
How the HELL did you get that computer to say 36.2mpg??? That's a joke, right? If not, you must have some kind of wonder VQ or something. -Brian |
