Sunrrof question

Is there a way to make the sunroof pop up higher than it does factory? I hate that it only goes up like an inch, I am looking for more like 5 inches. Anyone that has done this please post how and whats needed. Thanks

there's not a way, since you would have to change out the glass and the mechanism and linkage to do something like that. I've notice how small the tilt is when it's open cuz when i had the 97 Subie Legacy GT it had a bigger open gap on the tilt.

this ranks right up there with the "how to make the rear windows go down all the way" question.

j/k...but no, you can't.

I figured it was a dumb question but had to ask. Maybe not 5 inches but maybe like 2-3 would be nice. It just doesnt serve much purpose to only open an inch to me anyway.

I have gone through two Maximas....a 4th gen and a 5.5 gen....

I noticed that the 4th gen has a higher tilt than my 5.5 gen....not only that, the wind noise during tilt, in the 4th gen was alot less than the 5.5 gen.....I kinda thought something was up with my 5.5 gen becuz it made alot more noise during tilt, but it didn't even tilt as high as my 4th gen....but now that I talked to other 5th gen owners about it....they get the same amount of wind noise as me...

try prying it open when you have it at full tilt, ya know between the roof and the sunroof and see if it goes up anymore "inches" . but if you break the glass, mechanisms, or dent the hell outta the roof, dont worry about it! at least you got the sunroof up a few more "inches" . my buddy tried this on his 89 dodge shadow sunroof, because he wanted it to open like a tank, ya know where you enter and exit thru the top of your vehicle. but don't get any ideas okay! just in case that was next on your list!!!!!!!!!!
