body shop is concerned about mounting side skirts?

i just talked to my body shop guy, and he said they arent sure if they will be putting my Stillen sides on or not. he said they all think it looks better with the side skirts off (front and rear on) and they are also concerned about how the Stillen side skirts mount. he said they would work with it and ill call them tomorrow at noon.

what do you guys think about this? i trust the body shop, ive heard good things, and the guy has been very straight with me all along. do the Stillen sides mount in a bad or strange way? i dont even know what the car looks like with them not on, but with a front and rear lip, but i think i want them on. what could he mean, he doesnt like how they mount? if they dont do it, for whatever reason, i want another place to, but there has to be a reason they are saying this. what do you guys think?

the reason he doesn't want to do it is because he doesn't know how, and he doesn't want you coming back later and blaming him if/when it falls off.

I would have gone somewhere else as soon as he gave me his opinion about how something on *my* car looks. Who gives a **** if he thinks it "looks better without" just put the damned things on or STFU and give me my keys.

I would take it to another shop. Ultimatly it is your car and if you like it on then get them put on if not leave them off.

Well, if he already has it painted, take the things home with you and install it yourself. If he hasn't painted it yet, have him paint it and then install it yourself. I've seen people use rivets in such a way it gets covered by the door.

they do have them painted. i read the write up on installing them myself, but i dont have any experience with rivets and things like that. i guess no harm in taking them home, im sure i can get it on one way or the other.

There's plenty of people in NJ that would help you out. I think njmaxseltd has a body shop or knows someone that would install it for you. Even Don might be able to help you out.

There is nothing a good body shop cant put on a car if they really want too. I wouldnt get it done by them since they seemed hesitant about it in the first place. I work for a body shop and could mount a freakin' BBQ grill on your fender if thats what you wanted

ah, the suspense is killing me. i just talked to the guy i always talk to there and he said they are bringing the car in now and are gonna take a look at the side skirts. i said i really really want those on, so if they can, please put them on. if they cant do it, they cant do it, but i made sure he knew i really wanted those on. we will see, i have to call him back at 4.

this shoulda been simple! with all the female-related drama i am having now, i really didnt want to have to deal with this **** too!
