Gool deal on this 5th gen?

I'm looking into purchasing an 03 SE, auto, graphite with dark grey interior. It has a moonroof and power drivers seat. Only 12k miles. Is 17,500 a decent deal?

Overall the car is in good condition, except the 2 passneger rims have slight curb rash.

Sounds like a good deal. The mileage would scare me a bit. Only 12K miles for a 2 year old car (getting closer and closer to 3 now)?

I'd have an independant shop really check it out and have someone who does paint work look it over for any body / paint work.

Other than that, sounds like a good deal assuming they're not screwing you on a trade.

Thanks for the reply. He told me the low miles are due to working from home, and if he did goto the office it was 5 miles down the road. He bought it mid 03. I looked it over pretty well looking for overspray and any other indication that it was hit or repainted..... and it looked ok to me. I am a freak about checking things out like that.

How much are vehicle checks usually?

Seems like a very good deal to me, assuming everything else is okay with the car. I mean, only 12k miles? That's awesome.

Edit: I guess it depends slightly on the options. Maybe with cloth interior, manual climate, and nothing else special other than the moonroof, it might be a tiny bit too high. But not a bad deal. And with other options, definitely a good deal. Confusing, right?

I'm not sure about the auto climate. But I didn't want leather anyway. Would have been nice to have the Bose but I can do without that as well. Down grading from my previous ride...03 BMW 330ci. Edmunds private party vlaue is around 17,300. I tried doing him for 17k since the 2 wheels have minor rash but it was a no go....and I'm getting sick and tited looking for a car already.

Got a buddy with his dealers lic....might take a ride with him to the auction this week and check it out.

Care to share why you're downgrading?

And you wouldn't have wanted the Bose anyway, just about anybody on here that has/had it will tell you it sucks. Good luck finding a car!

Kind of sounds like the same deal with BMW and the Harmon Kardon option...sucked as well. Decided to sell the BMW since I'm moving in with my girl...planning on buying a place, etc.

Like the Max, wish it was rwd though. I'll probably end up buying this one since I've had enough with looking around for a better deal.

Just realized I can't spell GOOD.

Yeah, I mean if the car is in good shape, you won't be disappointed. Even with the few small problems my car has, I still love it. It really is a lot of fun and still very accomodating at the same time.

There are many cars at that price. Not many for less, and plenty for more. You'd never get it at that from a dealership, but private sale there are others like it. That said the price is good, so if you like it, go for it.

Thanks all. Going to look at it again and drive it on Sunday. I'll probably end up with it...and I'll be happy. I don't like the light grey interior and that's what I see most of, especially if it has the graphite exterior.

All I want to replace are the 2 rashed rims on the right side, that just bothers me....looks like he couldn't parallel park too well. Anyone have extras they are getting rid of?

If ya head over to the Classifieds forum, there's a specific Wheels and Tires For Sale/Want to Buy section.... might be more of use to ya than posting that here...

I just picked up my 2k3 silver SE with the same options about a month ago for just under 16k, but with 36k miles. Id say you are getting a pretty good deal. PM me if you need a carfax report. I bought a 30 day unlimited subscription that is coming to an end here soon.

In my experience, it has NEVER been worth it to get the premium audio system from ANY car company. I've seen "premium" audio fail in Cadillacs, Nissans, Toyotas, BMWs, and VWs, and even when it works right, it's not that great.

I love my Bose, for real! It beats the hell out of putting in some aftermarket stereo and getting it jacked due to it not looking stock. Mine is stock, therefore thieves don't look twice at it, and it sounds alot better than most stock stereos....grant it I did add a few subs to it...but other than that it works out really well.

Thanks man, I looked for the vin but I didn't have it. I did ask the owner to email it over to me though. Appreciate the help.

FWIW, I just traded an 03 SE on an 05 G35X. I got 16K for the car. A little less than I wanted, but they gave me an awesome price on the G. My car was an auto with Titanium package, no leather.
