Am I going to have a problem?

What up peoples. I pulled the p0420 code and through all my reading on here, I guess this is covered by an 8yr/80miles emissions warranty. Now I scheduled an appointment next Friday to bring it in. Do you guys think they'll do the flash without a hassle? I guess I qualify, I have 40K miles and the cali-spec emissions. I'm just worried I'll have a problem with these guys. Cause I'm not planning to spend a dime, and I'm not going to anyway. Let me know what you think. Thanks guys.

you may help your cause if you bring in a copy of the tsb where the fix is outlined. look up in the stickies for the tsb thread. look for studman's post near the bottom as a link to his page that has it in pdf format. tsbs are typically only 3yr/36k but this is emissions related so you have the correct coverage time. this is a federally mandated warranty, so if they give you any hassle then call 800-NISSAN1 and let them know what dealer is not working in accordance with federal law.

you dont need a TSB for something covered by the emissions warranty

here are all the TSBs anyway - http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/tsb/

i did not say he needed it. i said it may help his cause. there are alot of writers and techs without a clue and at least with the tsb number, they can look it up for themselves and see it is legit. then maybe, they could get the repair right the first time instead of going off some information a customer got off the internet.

hey dude the reprogram is covered and u dont have to pay for anything--if u dont get it done you will just have more problems down the road--the only thing is that after we reprogram the ecm people will come back to us and tell us that their car feels different--the reprogram does affect the performance a little bit due to that it tells the injectors to not spray during decel--but i would go there and let'em do it if they try to charge u it is against the law b/c u have a warranty-u can call nissan like the dude says in a reply
