Az meet Pics
Im sure phil will post more but these are the ones i got. The CL-S has headers and CAI and ran 15 flat - 15.4 all night i think his launch was bad because on his last run i saw him stage really far so his 60 foot had to have been crap. Alex ran low 15's in his 5 speed after figuring out how to shift, Phil hit 15.7 i think with his y pipe, pully, catback and OSCAI and zach hit a 15.5 with same mods but no pully. Im not gonna say what i ran but my excuse is i had a huge system in my trunk and a spare... ohh and the track was wet.. ya. At least i looked good once it got dark and i could show off the hids. Ohh and there was this punk *** 17ish year old kid with his BRAND *** NEW Audi S6. This thing was gorgeous. After his first run his spoiled *** burned out the clutch and smoke starts pouring out of the hood and they had to tow it away on a flat bed. ha ha ha another funny thing was these 2 guys from england brought their rental dodge minivans to the track and they both actually did burnouts!! it was hillarous. I think they ran in the 18's (Faster than auto civics)

There were actually four Maximas there. The one picture has the White AE (Phil's) in it with the hood up.
Hey Phil, or anyone, got any different pics you could post?
Adam, did the guy in the Typhoon run at the track and if so, what did he do? Just curious.

Adam
to the best of my memory...the best times of the night by everyone that went with us
me(mrburner)-15.5
adam(2000maximase)-16.0
phil(desertpearl)-15.8
alex(icey2k1)-15.5 (he beat me by like .04 secs...i was ****ed...i was the fasted max there until his last run...o well, he has a stick...he deserves a better time...alex, time to get some new tires)
alex #2(my friend w/ the typhoon)-14.3
guy w/ cl type s-15.0
i'm almost positive all of those are right...the lowest temp of the night was 69 degrees so it was pretty warm all night (didn't really help any of us)...this is the emptiest i've seen the track and i got 6 runs in (2 were from bracket racing)...as said in the last sentence, there was bracket racing...me and phil were the only 2 maximas in the bracket racing
i dialed in a 15.65 to start and had the worst launch i have ever had in my drag racing career and ran a 15.7x and the guy i was racing against dialed in a 15.6 and ran a 15.56 (hah) so i won because he broke out...2nd race i went against this old car that dialed in a 15.0 and i changed my dial in to 15.73 (talked it over w/ phil, decided my engine was warmer than it was on the last run so i would probably run worse than my 15.73 that i ran previously)...well i had a perfect launch and i was about half a car length ahead of this guy when we crossed the line...he ran a 15.03 and of course i broke out with a 15.5 (second 15.5 of the night...if i could have a run like that with my engine cold it should be a 15.3...and then imagine the winter...adam, that $50 is mine)
i didn't keep track of phils times, but he got into the finals and lost right before the final race...o well...phil, how is your wife coping with your tardiness?
overall the meet was pretty fun...it would be better if we could get even more people down there next time...my friend in the typhoon raced this 12 second turbo/intercooled sentra...needless to say, my friend got his @$$ kicked...that sentra was such a sleeper...stock rims and everything

More Pics
Guys, I promissed more pics and here they are. I can't get them to post like Adam did, so I'm attaching links to them. Regretfully all of the pics I took at the track were too dark. I tried various ways of lightening them up in Photoshop, but they were too grainy after doing so.

And of course, you guys need to check out my new exhaust setup. I ditched the Greddy muffler section and had Belangers make a muffler section using the stock muffler, in hopes of quieting it back down to sane levels. I had it done today and it's definitely quieter now... almost like stock (ie a little too quiet, but oh well).

Regarding the times I ran last night, my best was a 15.6@88.8. The bracket racing was very cool. My last time to do this, I made it to the finals and redlit with a .437!!!
Last night, I was getting some great lights. Here are my reaction times for the night:
Run 1 - .627 (good, but not great)
Run 2 - .542 (much better)
Run 3 - .595 (once again, good but not great)
Run 4 - .510 (WOW!!!)
Run 5 - .565 (nice)
As Zach mentioned, I made it to the semifinals, but broke out with a 15.844 on a 15.85 dial in. I tapped the brakes at the end of the run so I wouldn't break out, but not enough. My trap speed on this run was 81mph, at which speed .006 seconds (the amount I missed my dial in by) equals about 8.6 inches!!! I broke out by less than a foot! The bad thing is that the Cuda I was racing I beat by about a car length. I had plenty of distance to play with. Oh well, live and learn. Next time, we all need to do the Trophy Dash.

Damn, That was fun!!!
I'd never really raced before in my Max and now I know how difficult it is to get good times.
Lesson
------------
1)God damn FULL size trucks can run 15.5's no problem.
2)Even 350+ ci engines have to figure out how to put the power to the road, so you can beat their a$$.
3)WORST, I now know that even though you have a FASTER car, you can still lose the race if you spin the tires and have a $hitty reaction time. As an example I lost to an Eclipse GS w/ a 16.5 1/4. What a shame after I slept at the light and then dumped the clutch waaaaay to quick.
4)15.5 is about as good as it gets when you don't know your tires and how to handle track conditions. I feathered 1st with tires slipping in the TOP of the gear, so I let off the gas. Then I shifted to 2nd and hammered it, which caused MAJOR loss of traction as the tires grabbed-slipped-grabbed-slipped, so I gave a little clutch which stopped the slipping, but when I released it, the tires grabbed-slipped-grabbed-slipped a few times until I let the gas pedal go and lost a lot of RPMS. After that I gained then lossed for the rest of the 1/4 with Phil. He definitely won, but my 1/4 time was better showing it was my fault not that his car was faster.
5)The track is a totally DIFFERENT ball game then the street. Traction and reaction time is how you light your time board.
I was definitely impressed with my basically(Stillen intake) stock Maximas' performance. "She" definitely had a lot more in her, I just couldn't hook it to the ground. I definitely saw between my two decent runs, how much difference the traction makes. Now I just need some more practice on the reaction time and learn how to race WITHOUT listening to my engine and tires. The BIGGEST adjustment I had to make was in being able to adjust throttle by the way the car feels, rather than sounds. It just wasn't what I was used to on the street messing around.

Be sure to cast your vote!!!
my vote is for the greddy tip...the tips you have on now look...well, like tips...i know thats what they are, but usually when you get tips, you want the tip to blend in so it looks like its just piping from the muffler...i think your greddy tip looked a lot nicer (it would look even nicer in polished aluminum or chrome)...thats just my opinion...i see tons of people with tips like what you have on now

Hehe..
Ok.. Don't take this the wrong way, it's nothing personal... This is just for the sake of a discussion.
You mention that Phil's tips look like everyone elses but doesn't nearly every tuned import have a coffee can on it these days? I mean, if thats what you like thats fine, but normal tips on an import, thats been moded, is actually a rare thing over the last few years. Wouldn't you agree?
As far a blending in, nothing sticks out more than a four inch pipe hanging off the back end.
Like I said, nothing personal... Not trying to **** ya off, just striking up a discussion!

Do any of you guys know how to do a poll on this board? I tried to start a new thread and select the poll option, but it didn't give me anyplace to specify how I wanted the poll laid out. I already send Y2KevSE a message, so I should find out soon. You guys have any ideas???
gord...i was just stating my opinion...obviously i like the look of something different and i like to get looked at etc....i'm figuring that you and phil feel the same way since you have the ae max...i personally think the stock tips look better than the tips he has on right now...
yes, many imports have tips like mine and like the one phil used to have, but when i say that the tips he has now are overplayed...i mean this...people at my work that have completely 100% stock cars have tips like this...i see lots of people that have tips like these and they are all on completely stock cars...i do like the dual tip setup for a max w/ a normal bumper or the ae rear or the stillen rear because it is more of an oval shape...on my car i have a rounded hole so a single tip looks better...phil, i say you go for what you like...it shouldn't matter what we say but my vote is defenitely for the old greddy style you had
lucentauto...thanks on the complement

Alex, are you reading this??? Also, since it's the entire muffler section now, I would prefer not to mail it. Lemme know.

Actually Alex wanted it. I told him $80, but I think I'll have to get $100 because Belangers kept the entire rear section intact. He redid the muffler section on my stock piece so it cost me more to get the stocker put back in. If he's unwilling to pay $100, it's yours. By keeping the muffler section intact it should save him more than $20 if he was going to do a mid pipe at the same time.
