Installed high flow cat/ test pipe today

So I ordered a hi-flow cat last week from ebay. It most likely is a test pipe, but oh well, I will worry about smog problems when they get here. The car has a nice hum/growl to it now that it severly lacked before. Overall, I have to say good buy... Haven't dynoed it yet, don't plan on it. But it looks nice and sounds great.

What other exhaust mods do you have? This better not be the only thing.

For sure...heard test pipes don't give big gains unless your boosted....I believe the stock maxima cats already flow very well for a stock cat....

Does it work well for the price? Yes....$30 for a test pipe is cheap and effective.....even if u don't feel the "gains"....u still have a piece of mind that your engine is breathing at it's best with no restrictions....straight piping all the way to the muffler...no honeycomb **** to block airflow....

upgrading to a test pipe is not worth it....if you think u might get caught anytime soon....i think the fine for running a test pipe is very high in cali

as of now, this is the only exhaust mod. I will hopefully be getting a cat back system sometime soon. Why should it not be the only exhaust mod I have done?

Cuz a str8 pipe alone would probably yield nothing....and just get you in trouble and pollute the environment....as opposed to having a full exhaust system u will have some gains...but still minimal

I've got a y-pipe and straight pipe laying around but I'm not putting in the straight pipe for emissions reasons. Don't feel like throwing the cat back before my emissions test.
At least I won't be hurting the environment...

the ECU is changes the fuel mixture every second to ensure the right mixture. if you run your car while plugged up to a consult you will see this.
bottom line...the emissions are very minimal on a newer car. and i dont feel bad at all when i drive past a city bus blowing out more smoke then a coal factory.
