check engine light

just came on in my 02 anything i can check or do before i go pay the 85 bucks for them to check it (at the stealer) car runs fine and cool maybe something stupid i did disconnect the battery for a while and still on

Read the "sticky" section.... and go to Autozone to have the code pulled......... but read the stickies first...

Dude, $85 for a check engine light? You can buy and OBDII scanner for $100. Go to Autozone. They will check for free provided that your light is on.

Why are you taking it to the stealership anyway? Unless you are taking up on their free 100 point inspection, I'd always avoid going to the stealership.
