Now, did ya want headers or a y-pipe?

Warpspeed and Cattman have done y-pipe GDs in the past, but someone tried to get Budget to do it and that didn't work out... I think Warpspeed's is still going on though....

As for headers, Cattman had an intro deal when they first came out, but nothing since and I've not heard of anything from Hotshot in my time here....

Have ya checked/posted in the GD forum lately?

If youre going to spend the money and the time on a set of headers and a y-pipe, go Cattman. As soon as he gets more in, Ill be placing my order for the set from Brian.

FYI, headers replace the y-pipe too... so ya either get headers OR a y-pipe... I know the stock headers and y-pipe are separate, but all aftermarket headers for the Maxima come with a section that replaces the y-pipe and this section is not the same as any aftermarket y-pipe that you would purchase separately.

Cattman headers:

Cattman y-pipe (top) and stock y-pipe (bottom):

Those of you with 2002 and 2003 models might want to consider headers instead of just the y-pipe. 2000 and 2001 models have the 3.0L engine, and they see better gains from the y-pipe than we do. 2002 and 2003 models have the 3.5L engine, but our stock exhaust manifolds are about the same as the ones on the 3.0L engine (even though we produce a higher volume of exhaust gases). Even though 2002 and 2003 owners will see gains from a y-pipe alone, you will see much better gains if you replace the restrictive stock exhaust manifolds with a good set of free-flowing aftermarket headers.

Of course, if money is really an issue for you, you could just go with the y-pipe, since it's cheaper. It may produce less gains, but it is still good for a few horsepower.

What sort of gains could I see with replacing my stock intake/exhaust with Cattman from CAI to muffler on an 02 Max?

HS headers on a 3.0L rock hard There are DEFINITE gains vs just Cattman Ypipe on my 3.0L. 3.5 uses the front exhaust manifold and pre-cat off a Cali spec 3.0L, the rear one is diff than the 3.0L due to the precat on that manifold also. I will have a video of my car with the new Mossy exhaust and HS headers soon, with dyno charts to follow.

You will not beat a G35 coupe if you are AUTO, if you are 5spd and the Coupe is a auto, and you know how to drive you shouldn't have a problem- I know I don't but then again my car is totally diff from your car.

how do you figure you have 230? just curious what mods you have and i hope you are talking about crank power and not to the wheels.

230 crank HP is more like it, and you will NOT gain 50HP from headers, you might gain 30 CRANK HP on a 3.5L plus maybe 10 crank HP with a good 2.5" exhaust, but no way in hell will you gain 50 WHP on a 3.0L. I have every bolt on possible but cams on my 01 5spd I don't put down 250WHP- my base dyno was 198WHP on 15" steel wheels.
