OHBOIYA-

Ive raced about 10 5.0L Mustangs in my 5 speed SE (street and track) and have never lost. The only ones that have kicked my a@# are the Cobras!

In fact, I raced one last night! This 5.0 seemed mostly stock, with just some Flowmasters. By 60 mph, I shut it down with a 3 car lead. His was particularly slow though, as usually, in 1st and part of 2nd, the 5.0's hang pretty close, and at about 50 mph the Max starts to make a nice stroll away.

This has been my experience anyway.

You will beat a stock 5.0 5spd Stang. Now if it had exhaust or gears that would be different.

Yeah...you are right...It depends on how much the Stang is modified. Ive beaten ones with exhausts etc., though with my stock 5 speed SE.

what years

It depends on the year of the mustang and the condition, and of course the driver. with equal drivers no max will beat a 87-93 mustand 5 sp. I had a 89 LX that ran 13.6 with flowmaster exhaust and 65mm TB on street tires. A supercharged max couldnt do that on street tires. with a couple more mods (no supercharger) ran 12.80. So just be glad not everyone can drive, cause I love my Max but there is no way to even compare how fast my mustang was! (TRue story) My father has a Lamborghini 5000s and we raced a few times at limerock park and on the street(never from a stop) I could easily beat him until about 130mph or until I shifted into 5th,and a friend of his has a 97 Ferrari TR beat him too until about 130mph. After that both cars were gone 170++. Just wanted to share some memories!

about = anyhow.... the 94 redesign & 5.0L ran 0-60 in 6.8 seconds....
now its much quicker with the latest redesign, I think its something more like 0-60 in 5.5 sec for the 4.6L GT... 6.5 for the auto

Not all Mustangs are equal

They are all over the place, from low 13's up to the high 17's. Just because you beat one, doesn't mean you beat them all. I have a friend with an '89 LX 5.0 that runs 13.8-14.0 in the 1/4 with only a intake. The 5.0's are much easier to modify too. SC kits only go for $1500. The only good 4.6 (IMHO) is the Cobra version. The rest are dogs.
