window screeching...

Ok ive noticed only in the cold, my driver window makes the most annoying noise when you roll it down or up, it screeches... how can i fix this, what is causing this problem?



oh and my volume *** isnt working anymore, anyone know what i can do to fix that?

i have the same problem with the passenger side it happened after i took the door panel off. you might want to do that and make sure there is nothing hitting or rubbing and also the the track is clean. it could also be the motor slipping but that is a long shot.

To take the door panel off you take the screw out the the hand cup and there is another screw up by the top of the door. on the bottom of the door by the speaker there is an access point and you pop te clips out. you also need to take the trim ring off from around lock and handle assembly. the the door panel will slid up and off. there is plastic behind the panel but there is ways around that. i dont suggest cutting it but if you take the speaker out you can get in from there of you can carefully pull it off of the glue and get in that way just remember to make sure it seals again or you will hear road noise.

i had the same problem when cold weather started, i sprayed AMSOil silicone spray on the moving parts and also did what GTmaxima posted. no squeaking now.

ok im stuck on getting the panel off, i unscrewed everything i popped off the ring around the inside door handle, it it seems still stuck on?

You dont have to. Get silicone spray from your local auto store and spray it all along the tracking. Run the window up and down a bit to distribute the stuff. It should work as good as new.
