Reprogram ECM for code P0420?

Can the ECM be reprogrammed concerning code P0420 by anyone other than the dealership?

Nope unless your local mechanic(s) in your area has what the dealer has to reprogram your car. Pay the 85 bucks and have it done, its worth it.

Just unplug negative from the battery and leave it off for at least 3 hours... that should help...

Is the P0420 the same on the 5th gens as it is on the 4ths? That is the code I keep getting. Even replaced both front O2 sensors. What will the reprogram do for it. Mine will come on for a few days then go away.

it has to be reprogrammed by a consult 2 which only nissan dealers and nissan/infiniti specific shops have.

You don't have to have it reprogramed if you don't want to. All you need is an O2 Simulator and that'll do the job. I was running that same code for about 2 years straight. Got the O2 Simulator a few weeks ago and no more SES light. I even passed emissions with ease. Only costs $30.

I got it reprogrammed by my dealer 3 months ago as part of the TSB at the time the car was 41K. I wasn't charged a penny.
