new alloy wheels.
OK, my car and loans are paid off and I finally have enough spare cash for a reasonable wheel/tire package. But, I'm having trouble deciding which wheel to get. I've narrowed it down to Ronal R28, Borbet Type E, or the Konig Five-O. All in a 17x8 size. Let me know what you guys think is the best bang for the buck.
I like the Ronal's. I would go for the lightest of the 3 though. Do you know the weight on any of them?

Konig's web site lists the Five-O at 20.1 lbs.
The Borbet Type E's are about 21-22 lbs, based on SCC magazine's wheel listing (May 2000 issue). I'm not sure what the Ronal R28's are but probably about 23-24 lbs.
What worries me just as much as weight, however, is quality and strength. I plan on keeping these wheels (and my car) for a long time. I don't want them to crack in a couple years just because I autocross occasionaly.

Looks like Ronal makes quality wheels. "Ronal R-28 rated "Best Quality Alloy Wheel" by TÜV, 3/98" They are also an OEM supplier to Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Saab and Lotus.

I also thought about Type E's and was about to buy them when I saw Type T on a Beemer. I decided to order the Type T this morning from tirerack.com along with Pirelli P6000 (also got a free Pirelli jacket due to a promotion!)
