how do i remove the third brake light?

i know this is a real newbie question, but i cant figure it out. im talkin about the brakelight inside, for those of us without a rear spoiler. anyone know how to take this out? i know its easy, but i cant figure it out. thanks guys.

You have to take off the cover facing the window. Use a flat screwdriver and cloth to pry the shell open. Voila, ur done. If you have the maxima manual, you'll see an illustration of the step-two guide. keep us posted. good luck.


ur referring to the high-mounted stop-light, right?

pull it toward you with both hands... it kinda goes up and out toward you.. if you hear a loud noice its just the clip coming off... once off you will figure out how it works..

yeah, the high mounted stop light, the one in the rear window. so do i pry it? or just pull it hard toward me? if i pry it, what am i prying, against the rear deck or the window? ill try and just pull it later, the rattling is killing me
