I have the OE Nissan wipers and they are perfect (I always keep my car clean and the windshield gets waxed from the soap). I really wouldn't waste money in this area.

My $0.02

Not quite.

I've seen these in action on PacketAttack's 4th gen, and holy crap do they keep the window clean. No streaking or anything.

i've had my car for 6 months and used my OEM wipes a LOT (it rains a lot in central texas) and they are still 100% streak free. I've only had my car for 6 months so i'm not sure if they were replaced before i bought them or not, but they are still great...the best wipers i've ever seen on a car...they certainly work a lot better than that of everyone i know...

you have to look at the money you spend in the long run. is it cheaper to by fancy expensive wipers that last longer? or cheaper ones that you have to replace more often.

I have had PIAA oem refills on for a couple months now and have already started to notice some streaking. I have not been particularly impressed with the PIAAs and I will most likely upgrade to something like the Silblade next time.

they aren't as expensive....if you knew that you dind't have to buy the PIAA blade itself but just the PIAA refill, you'd know that it's only $8 for 1 side and $6 for the other, which is pretty much VERY cheap. i have the piaa's and although i'm going to accept SOONR1 not enjoying them as much, i'll say that i love mine. i have had no problems in the past few months that i've had them. i've had to deal with some crazy snow this winter and they held up very nicely. go whichever way you'd like. i think that for the price, you can't beat the PIAA refills, and if you mix that up with some rain-x fluid, you're good to go. cheap, yet efficient.

I have 60k miles on my Max and have replaced the blades twice.

Once it starts streaking i clean the windshield using newspaper and follow it up with a claybar. Cleaning the blades help as well.

Then i apply Rain-X. Streaks are gone and my blades get to last yet another season.

You need to use a conditioner on the blades every month or so (depending on use). My OEM originals lasted from Nov'02 to Feb'05 without having to be replaced, and no streaking ever...

Heh, I heat up the windshield. Once it's warm, I don't have a problem at all thereafter.

I'm using the Rain-X blades on my pathfinder and love them. They are metal and well built. They are quiet and very tight (don't flop back and forth when swiping) and clean great. Don't know about how long they will last I haven't had them on that long. I will more than likely put a set on my maxima this spring.

I bought rain-x blades for my moms jeep and after driving it in the rain put a set on my max. They are not bad compared to some blades, like $8 at walmart. Havent found better for the same price.

i'm using PIAA replacement blades in my OEM wipers. had them on for about 3 months now. can't complain. i heard somewhere that you're supposed to use white vinegar to clean your windshield wipers. haven't tried it myself yet. anyone ever hear anything like this?

what's the advantage of cleaning your windows with a newspaper? is it ok to do it if you have tints?

I put Rain-X blades on my girlfriend's Subaru and they work awesome. I spent more money on Teflon coated blades that suck. Wish I had spent the cheap money on the Rain-X blades.

I have had the PIAA blades on since march or april last year an have had no problems. I also have aqua pel on the windshield since october and that stuff really helps too.

Newspaper has zero lint an doesnt leave residue on windows like paper towels do. It is an old method, back in the day people used to use white vinegar (which strangely enough was mentioned as a way to clean blades) to clean windows instead of glass cleaner. I use stoners Invisible glass and newspaper it does wonders. It should be better for tint than using paper towels. You can also get super soft lint free towels specifically for windows, I have some that I use for my paintball googles and they are nice but you need a lot of them to do your windows and they arent cheap.

Remember DO NOT use newspaper with color adds or comics.

Newspaper is the way to go. Btw. make sure to use a window cleaner w/o ammonia on tinted windows.

Bingo. You'll never get cleaner glass than using the above methods...

When I lived in IN i would suggest rainx on the window with oem blades. Now that I live out west, rain is not a worry

That is the best solution, move somewhere that there is no rain (phx, la, albq, lv, some parts of colorado....). He he

Just drove through the rainstorm in Phnx last weekend and even over a year later these things still kick azz compared to my OEMs.
