"1oak" Tinted 5.5 Tails w/Extra Stuff.

Well PhxBlue beat me to the punch with his 5th gen tails, but if I'm not mistaken this is the 1st 5.5 gen.

Been wanting to do this for a while, just put an end to my laziness and bought the VHT Niteshades off ebay. Came in this past weekend and modded tonight (as you can tell by the nite pics). I'll get day ones tomorrow, but just figured I'd post here now.

Took about 3 hours w/30mins dry time between each coat. The longest part aside from that was prepping. Got ghetto with it, and took Lowe's sheets of free plastic covers and my trusty Credit Card and went to work. I couldn't have asked for a better prep job. Spray evenly and motion on the plastic first. After I got the preferred coats, I let it dry for about 45mins before pulling the plastic off. Tonight, I won't be driving anywhere, so tomorrow morning it'll be good to go.

More Pics on Cardomain.

I have to give you props. That looks really good on a black max. If I had a black max, I would do that aswell.

Very nice

Here's the daytime pics that I took this morning. Looks like I'm going to have to add a little clear coat for that shine. Do you guys think that would help? I'm a virgin to spray tint, and not sure what would give me the best results.

I'll try to get more shots later on in the day from far away, so you can see how it blends in.

And my Favorite angle.....

Looks good P. Clear coat will probably give you the shine you want. I don't have a lot of experience w/ this but I definitely wouldn't skimp on the quality of the Clearcoat. I think I saw some on paradox. Just my .02

Thanks man. Yeah, I've gotta find a good clear, and you're right, I don't want to skimp on the quality.

Like the smoked look...been trying to decide what to do with mine. Gone so far as buying another taillight and cut it apart...not too crazy bout the results, but I like what you've done...some good clearcoat will finish it up. Car is lookin good, keep us updated to your other mods.

That looks sick a couple of questions
1. How many coats of nite shades did you use?
2. How do you think that would look on my gray lustre??

No mods, as you can tell by the picture. Just remember to use the Yellow Cover that comes on the battery, and place it under the battery to act as a tray and give it a little height for the terminal post to fit. You might have to unclip the + Terminal wires so they will stretch a little, and then clip them back. Hope that helps
