What Cattman wanted for "it"? So basically you are saying it is the same product just different prices.

Not being picky but how about some outside vids. Cops don't care about inside noise. Sound nice on the inside minus the other noises.

I was told the videos sometimes don't work. Anyways I forgot all bout the video from the outside, but its not loud. I tried to run the car LOUD just for the video, and the noise gets loud at top end, and little noisy at below 2500RPM when on the gas. The exhaust is bout as loud as a stock 350Z, but deeper more pronounced bassy growl- from the outside. The VQ35 video- hes only got a short ram intake, and a Cattman rear section, and the exhaust on mine with headers, test pipe, and full catback was just a little bit louder than his. His car is alot louder inside than mine is cause of the short ram. Anyone notice his car runs up to around 50MPH in 2nd, where I can almost hit 70 in 2nd ? Our 5spd trannies have some looong gears.

The mossy sounds real nice.

I currently have a leak in my exhaust right after the B pipe towards muffler.

I want(ed) to get a frankencar cat back system........one major freaking problem

Do they ever return mail/calls ? Do they want my money ? I have their air intake and waited so long for it i was pissed and drove to get and he put it on for me. I do really enjoy the intake. Makes me wonder if they don't have anymore exhausts to sell...

I like the frankencar sound, the mossy too , tho it sounds substantially louder.

Anyone know off hand how much the Frankencar (cb) wieghs vs stock ?

willing to pay the extra for mossy if they reurn my calls....

Did the Mossy help the butt HP ?

Thnx

nobody has any patience these days Everything's got to be "now, now, now"

The guys at Frankencar have "day jobs", they only do FC as a part-time thing (like others here...Matt Blehm, others...)...so have some patience knowing they're not sitting in an office answering the phone or emails all day...they are working at their day jobs, and then in the shop MAKING their intakes, exhaust, etc....

As to having any more to sell....since it's a "small business" - not STILLEN or whatever, they can only hold so many of each thing in stock...chances are they will build it after you order it in alot of cases....

bottom line is....why b1tch about it? If it's taking too long for you, order someplace else....b1tching about it on the org will not make them answer your calls or emails any faster.

on a related note, my intake arrived less than a week after I ordered it from Frankencar, and whenever I've emailed them with questions, I've always gotten a reply within a few days....

Hehe

While walking the dog I knew this email was coming.
I did vent....
But did have a question re wieght....
I know about their day jobs, I did meet them and they were really nice. After all they did install the intake for me.
Just miffed cause I am in a hurry....would hate to buy stock peice to replace a week later....and the sound kinda makes me grind my teeth ( wrote post after driving home after 13 hour shift)
Relaxed and having a beer now, feeling more friendly :P

I am going by Palmer, Ma this weekend and was really hoping to pick it up.......

Sounds mean, Very nice and the sound alone is worth $$ over a typical Y-pipe only install

oh yeah...the FC exhaust is somewhat heavier than stock. Don't know the precise weight, but everyone who has it says it's noticeable (SS of course is heavier)...

It isn't a problem venting on the Org, it happens with everyone on many different fronts. Just some people are more irked by it than others if you say something about a company they like.
I am not saying either is wrong, because I would probably chime in on the latter.

For me, has nothing to do with liking a company or not......but this is how flame wars get started....and in this case, the topic has been discussed to death in the past.

I can see publicly complaining if you PAY a company and then they don't send it and you can't contact them to find out why. But in this case, its just venting about not being able to order. Since no money has changed hands, I don't see what the big deal is......so you have to wait an extra week.....*****ing about something like that won't have any positive results in this case because
- the guys from frankencar are probably not reading this thread
- calling them out publicly is not likely to get you on their good side (if that matters)
- if they have to spend time replying to threads and defending their reputation or whatever, that's less time they have to make products or answer future phone calls (right?)
....and of course this applies to any small company, private seller, etc...not Frankencar specifically....

The biggest power you/anyone (as a buyer) has is the power of choice and the power of the wallet. If you don't like the service/product/whatever....spend your money elsewhere.

"money talks and bullsh1t walks," as ssomeone once said

Then again, I work for a big government agency....when I call the supply department and request a pack of staples or a roll of scotch tape, you can bet I won't get them for a week or so (even though there are thousands of rolls of tape down there that I've seen with my own eyes...)

Guess I'm just used to waiting for things....

by the way, I just got back from a bar so if I accidentally insult anyone or anything, fuggedaboutit!

LOL

Just about to go to FC websites to pay/order. Told myself "relax and wait it will be good ". Accidentally opened outlook instead of mozilla
and saw new email......lol...too funny

The leak I was talking about it a crack actaully just after the b bibe connection going toward rear end...., pot hole heaven here on these country roads....I just know the exhaust is gonna break in a few days ( the kind of pot holes that bump ure car side ways)

After listening to mossy and Fc side by side and running in media players simultaneously I choose FC....F$#@ it def worth the weight....nice sound
The mossy is a touch too loud imo....if I was 18 again I'd get the mossy

Irish, I don't get insulted. I think I have the AIDS version that attacts my feelings.
Anyway, I don't disagree with what you say, but some of the things you point out will never happen, like wrongly berating companies. That will happen all the time regardless of how much we strive against it. But I agree that in this case "But in this case, its just venting about not being able to order. Since no money has changed hands, I don't see what the big deal is......so you have to wait an extra week.....*****ing about something like that won't have any positive results in this case because" it does no good.

As for working for a government agency I can identify with the fact of waiting for the most mundane products. Damn govies...please tell me you aren't.........

Pretty much why I got the Frankencar, it was about $200 less at the time, although if I ever get headers, I think I'll appreciate the Frankencar more...

As for Frankencar taking a long time with stuff... its never happened to me... took em a day or 2 to ship it and it got here within 3. No complaints from me whatsoever.

Not going to pick sides here, but THIS is bout customer service, AMERICAN bussiness is bassed off customer serivce. If you do not like the service you get, you can always go to a diff company and you do NOT have to put up with bad service to get a product out of them. This the way I felt bout buying my new exhaust, I woulda gotten FrankenCar only off EBAY, I heard few posts about people waiting for their exhaust for weeks, also its been about 3 weeks now since I send them an E-mail bout their exhaust- I have yet to get anything from them. Cattman responded within 4 days, Mossy responded within 24 hours, I have gotten my exhaust for less than FC wants for theirs, got great customer service experience- and I love the sound it makes, its quiet but can be noisy when needed it to be- like 5K-6700RPM WOT sprint. Eighter way I'm not forcing anyone to buy from Mossy at gun point, I'm expressing my personal opinion as to why I chose to buy a UNKNOWN to anyone- exhaust. I had no clue what it was going to be like, but I don't regret it a single bit.

This is plan and simple. Buy what you want to buy. Mike bought the hotshots I bought the Cattman headers. He had the greddy thought it was to loud. I have the greddy. I still haven't heard my car from the outside driving by but I don't think mine is that loud. If I had a video camera I would share. But yes I to am getting tried of the big 4.5 tip of the greddy.

well I have full HS headers and 21/4 piping no cats and a straight through muffler. I have tried every resonater in the world and not thing will ever quiet that thing. The in cabin noise is insane. My girlfriend won't even ride with me. I was thinking of going to mossey but I want to make sure that with my setup it's not going to be annoying in the cabin. I like the frankencar but a heavier muffler than stock doesn't really appeal to me. I just want to make sure that the car is going to breath well. If frankencar gives good performance then I might just go with that. Any input on how to keep the car quiet inside the car but still get good performance?

Don't expect noticeable performance from exhaust except noise.

I definately got noise. I did notice when I got my bigger piping and muffler it ran smoother. It didnt' feel as choked up as with the stock stuff. I think the piping probably had the big part to play with that. Frankencar is starting to sound like the way to go to keep it on the quiet side.
