Does anyone know if the 03 HLSD tranny is interchangeable with a non-hsld 6sp transmission??

i dont see why it wouldnt be. the LSD itself is inside the tranny so on the outside the only difference should be the serial numbers

don't u have to have the correct axle as well? for example....HLSD tranny/HLSD axle and that goes with non HLSD too....correct me if i am wrong

i have never heard of an axle specific to the LSD, the only thing i can think of is a different spline count but i dont see why Nissan would do that

That's what I thought. Anyone with the HLSD have any problems (i.e.; third gear grind, extreme notchiness)? Those are the problems I have right now(besides brakes, creaks and groans, etc.). I think I can livewith the car though if I replace the tranny so I figured while I was at it I might as well get hsld if it's possible....
