I live in AR and have had several hail storms lately. Luckily, my Max has been safely in the garage (I left work when I knew it was coming!) but I was wondering if anyone has experienced any hail damage or hail pings on the paint. Since the paint is currently s*itty, I was wondering if that will make it more easily chipped.

just be glad you

weren't in Hot Springs. I heard they had some HUGE hail. I know how you feel.. I was prepared to leave early if the hail got too close to Little Rock.

I feel really bad for a buddy around the corner. He bought a new I30 three months ago, about two weeks before I got my Max. The hail storm in Houston dinged his car really badly, while my Max was garaged. I told him to take the insurance money and set it aside, since it will negatively impact his residual when his lease ends, and he'll need to come up with some money.

I live in Eastern Arkansas and last month we had a horrific hail storm. The hail was baseball sized. Entire car lots were wiped out. Thankfully my Max was in the garage. One of my buddies has a new Honda Accord and it got quite a few dents. He pulled the car out in the hot sun and began waxing the roof and hood, he did this several times. When he was finished he put ice cubes on the larger dents. I am not positive how this works but the majority if his dents were removed. He said the big dents can be removed by the dent doctor. I'm not sure if this is total BS or not. Anyone else heard of this?

yeah.. it works...

but its expensive.. a coworker spent (ins.) over $1500 getting hail damage fixed. they used dry ice on some dents and some other tools in hard to reach places. It totally worked. I cant tell he ever had damage. You have to really look for it. It took them like 4 hours (3 guys I think). I could easily get the name of the company if anyone around here is unfortunate enough to get some damage. I guess this is just the beginning of the season

So just where are you AR guys?

I have a clain in currently

with my company for 1100 worth of hail damage. I will be going to dent works or wizard whatever the closest one is. The paint did not chip on any of the hail spots but it is pretty messed up and the worse is around the wheels in the front.

I live in Conway but work 3 days a week in Little Rock. Hate the drive since I'm racking up miles on my new Max but oh well.....At least I look good and enjoy the ride! We need to have a Maxima meeting in Arkansas! I'd love to see other rides!

there arent that many in AR

that frequent this board. surprising as there's a ton of 5th gens around here. There are literally 3 sterling mist 2K max's within 5 blocks! also 2 blue, 2 gray and a few black ones. Thats probably from Cantrell and Mississippi and Park Plaza.

It would be nice to catch lunch sometime and swap dealer experiences... I'm having some trouble getting service done here. they break more than they fix.

I was up in Conway last weekend (man has that place changed since I went to UCA around '90). I noticed that dealership. I'm really thinking it might be worth driving up there. Shoot me some email at tware@adpub.com if you'd like to hook up...

Btw, if you catch wind of a Dallas meet, try to make it. Just about everyone I've met from this board has really been great. Totally worth going. The Dallas meets are usually pretty big (20+ cars for a small one)
