isn't there a way to hook up a line-in to the stock hu without buying an adapter like this? my friend with a mazda 6 hardwired a headphone jack to his cd player and he can plug in an ipod or anything else with a headphone jack. All he does is put in a blank cd and the sound will come out of his speakers just like it would if it were playing off the cd. is there anyway to do this with the maxima?

Like a lot of stock HUs there is no line input on the 5th gens. Everything goes through a funky wiring harness.

 

it says it will not work with the bose. I netered in 2002 maxima w/ bose w/o navi

When I enter my 02 Bose w/out Navi it shows no available options. It does not show any options even with Navi. Since it requires an external CD I suspect none of the 5th gen's will work (as they either don't have a CD input or only a DVD input).

yes. it's an either or thing. you have to unplug the cd changer.
