For those of you who haven't been in the Group Deal forum.....AutoVation has just finished the *very* nice brushed aluminum pedals and dead pedal for the 5th gen (manual or auto). Anyhow, the pedals are top-rate in quality and finish. They are curved correctly to fit directly on - perfect fit. Anyhow, I know they're not really "the look" for the maxima, but I like the feel, and am not gonna spend much time looking at my pedals!

What did they run you?....I recently ordered a set of AE pedals and dead pedal from Courtesy Nissan for $85 shipped. I know thats kinda expensive, but I wanted to make sure that I would be happy with them. Now I know that I probably could have spent less and had something that still looks good. Looks good....

The nice thing about these are that the brake/clutch/dead pedal have extruded holes, so they are nice a grippy (accelerator is smooth)...I believe the AE pedals are all-smooth.

plus, there is no AE dead pedal

the holes on the pedals (except for the gas pedal) have extruded ridges on them, so they are actually "grippier" than the stock pedals...

then again if it comes with the dead pedal, thats a plus. but the Z one looks sooo hot

 

Congrats Irish, I have seen better looking aluminum pedals though, for which I am eyeing. But as long as you like them.

 

I've seen nicer *looking* ones too...(AE and others)...I got these because the curvature is a precise fit to the metal backing pieces, and they have nice grip (especially for auto-x). Function wins over form as far as I'm concerned!

Nice, though the Z dead pedal looks better IMO (my taste). As epacy said, as long as you like them.

Since you the heaviest 5th gen on the forum, what's the net savings in weight from the OEM rubber pedals? j/k!!!

 

and i just remembered that the AE pedals are "grippy" too. the rubber piece behind the aluminum comes through the holes. little rubber studs. plus there is ribbed rubber on the two corners.

 

seems like a decent deal, though for 30 bux more i think i'd get AE pedals and the z dead pedal... Yet these do seem pretty nice...

 

These are the standard pedals on my 2K2 with HSLD. As mentioned there is rubber sticking out of the holes, so they are not slippery. I also have Wild *****'s dead pedal.



Irish, those are some of the better looking aftermarket pedal covers I've seen. Any issues with attaching them? I've seen some that have a tendency to want to come off cause of how they're 'clipped' on.

 

These aren't clipped on....they are screwed on with included hex-nut screws and lock nuts on the back. The holes are specifically located so they don't interfere with the metal bracket on the backs of the pedals. Of course, you DO have to drill holes in the pedals. But I'd rather have them secure. The rubber cover on my clutch pedal would occasionally come off, and it was quite annoying! As to fit...they were made SPECIFICALLY for the 5th gen, they are most definitely not "universal" pedals...the curvature is perfect.

Note...there is NO rubber behind the clutch/brake pedals on these....it is just metal.

I actually just went to 7-11 and drove barefoot-actually much more comfortable barefoot than stock pedals...who knew...

 

These "secret" beautiful pads I speak of have a very gripping surface with raised lines. I would post pics but then people would steal my idea.

But first I have to get my long-awaited cat-back on the car. I feel like a child at Christmas. The boxes tempt me.

 

they look nice josh but i must admit this is the first of your mods that i'm not thrilled with. i personaly like the look of the AE pedals like soonerfan. i put mine in just a month ago actually. looking for the dead pedal right now.

 

Thats cool by me....I didn't do it for looks, I did it for better pedal feel and grip....I rarely look at the pedals while I'm driving (and I really hope other drivers aren't looking at my pedals while I'm driving)

That said, I do like how they look....but wouldn't care if they were ugly either...

Don't drive over and egg my car or anything. Actually, they look pretty good. Definitely look aftermarket, but, yes, some of the better ones I have seen.

I guess since you are going auto-X you are going to start this whole heal-toe thing and drifting backwards around corners.

i was about to get the AE pedals and the Z deadpedal,but went in on this group deal instead.
im really pleased with the look and function.
it rained here pretty good the other day and even with my shoes being kinda wet it made no difference.
for the price i wouldve paid for the AEs and Z pedals i was able to get these and some chrome gauge rings....

 

thats 15+ HP though.....

Doooooood!!!!! Where did you find those!!! I have been looking ALL over the place. Those are the Special AE GTR Type-R edition pedals. You have to be in the know to be in on these. Sweet!!

Hey I like the AE ones in terms of looks.....I just like what these feel like on my feet better than the AE's....I wanted to get the AE's until I tried them out on a buddy's car...didn't like the feel.

my friends GF has an AE max,tried it out just for a feel of the pedals( and the supposed 5 extra HP LOL)
didnt really care for the feel of them.IMO didnt feel much better then the stock pedals to justify buying them.

Yeah, yeah...I get the picture....they aren't that pretty. They have no "bling" factor. You will not pick up ladies with them. They do not look good next to everyone's pedicured toes.......I coulda told you all that before I even bought them!!!

Is there anyone here who prefers things that work good to things that just look good?

I think maybe I'll have to get rid of the photo up top, since all you guys spend so much time looking at your feet while you're driving. Please! Don't drive near me
