Jacking Up My 5th Gen

Soon it's goodbye to my winter tires so I need a few tips jacking up my car.

I used to do it with the jack that comes with the car. That took forever. I got an old jack from a friend. See the thumbnail below. The part that is supposed to make contact the car is obviously different from the stock jack. What's the best way to use the new jack? Can I jack up one whole side of the car with this other one?

Pics would be nice if possible. Thanks.

There is an adapter that can fit on to some smaller jacks, I haven't found it yet but need to cause my floor jack is sooo not meant to jack up the max.

i got something like the 88 one and just use a piece of wood underneth. why not just make one using 3 pieces of wood, glue em together so its a " U " and use that as an adapter

There're two strong rails that go at the bottom of the car - behind 'stock' jack points. They're flat and I'm using them every time I'm jacking up my car. They are also slightly lower and allow to lift car higher. You should use jack stands in any case, believe me .

No problem... all the best with everything...

Btw, I have a Craftsman 2 & 1/4 ton jack and jack stands that I got from Sears for $40 total... its great for most things except its not high enough for me to replace a muffler, but its not like I'm switching out exhausts every month....
