Interest in Quaife Differential for 02-03?

I emailed Quaife today about making a differential for the 02-03 Maximas. I know they sell one through Cattman for the 95-01's, and im not even sure if its worth the attempt to get interest going. But, Im sending them a link to this thread so they will see how much we do or dont want this. I want this....does anybody else?

Don't waste your time....just get the HLSD from Nissan ~$500, if you have a 6spd trans..

They don't make them for the 95-2001's anymore.

Quaife is the best IMHO, however the cost and feasability to get 20 or so people to purchase with half up front like Cattman did back in the day is improbable nowadays. Plus, the price would be substantially higher then the $1300 or so Cattman USED to charge because of the weak dollar.

Quaife would do it, but you'd have to get dozens of people here to commit or a big name like Custom Enterprise to front up a big order. However, Cattman learned the hard way by it taking several years to dump the additional units he bought from the original/only batch produced.

IMHO, 2K2+ are lucky with the HLSD option for only $500, if you have a 6spd. If you have an auto, you could find a 2001 AE tranny and swap to a viscous limited slip?

Just call Dave Burnette at 888-254-6060 and he'll hook you up with all that you need. Then just find a reputable mechanic that has done Nissan tranny work. I was quoted $700 including clutch and flywheel replacement for labor by someone that has done at least two Quaife installs, since it's all apart anyways.

So is it necessary to replace the clutch with the HLSD? or did you just do it because it was all apart anyways......I think I just answered my question...

I haven't done this YET and I have a pre-2K2, so no HLSD option.

I do have a Quaife though and need to replace my clutch, so might as well at the same time to save on labor down the road.

here's Quaife's response:

Matt,
Thank you for your interest in our products. Unfortunately, as far as I can remember, we have not been asked to make one for that platform. We would need a sample, stock unit to quote you a price. Once a quote is issued, a batch order can be placed to get the ball rolling. The entire process usually takes about 12 weeks. Please let me know if you would like to proceed.

Course, Im in no position to make a batch order, and I dont have a "smaple unit". Hmmmm....wonder if Dave B would be at all interested....
