Question about springs & struts when dropping on 19s.

I am looking to drop my car soon, sooooo...I had a few questions! I will be running 19" Ace Manta's.

(1) I will be using Tokico Illumina struts...from what I understand, they have 5 settings...these setting only effect the performance, right? So I could keep tham at 5 and have a nice cushy ride, but poor cornering?

(2) What kind of spring should I purchase? I was thinking Tein H, but it seems like they will be kind of low and will hit the tires.

(3) I have heard of members hearing a noise after installing aftermarket springs/struts...is there anything I need to buy/do when lowering my Max aside from springs/struts to assure that they are healthy?

Thanks!!

In my opinion, if you are going to spend the $ for springs and struts you might as well buy the Tein SS kit. I have those on my car and LOVE em! Adjustable ride height and stiffness/softness. Just a thought. I think you can get them for around $1300.

i would think its low but not impossible to pull off. i think the springs can adjust to the weight of the car and the wheel gap

Welcome to the ACE Manta club. I have never seen another Max with them. Soon there will only be one as I will be getting new rims. Though mine are 18's. Other than that I have the exact same setup you are looking at. I have my illuminas set at 3F/3R. Nice ride comfort and performance wise. There is no rubbing at all with my h-techs and 18's. I don't think your 19's will rub either. Check my cardomain if you want to see pics. It is with my eibach drop though. The h-techs are very close though.

Crispy, your Max was my whole inspiration on getting the Manta's in the first place! They look amazing on your Max! I was going to get 18s too, but I found a set on eBay for $602 - shipped!!!! Couldn't pass it up. Thanks for the suggestion - I think I am going to go with the H-Techs.

For 18's, would you recommend Illuminas with H-Tech or S-Tech? Is it all about the drop? or is there a performace difference between the 2 springs?
