if you hear a clunk or whatever it could be your strut bearings, mine eventually went bad when i had the stock shocks with maxspeeds.. and now that i have JIC's they clunk 3times as much because i guess the upper pillow ball mounts are worn too. does your car make noises when you turn the steering wheel at very low to now speed?

no my turning is fine i chnaged my sturts to tokico hps... yea its a cluncking noise when ever my wheel goes in or over decent sized pot hole...my mechanic told me it may be my stabilizer links...so i mguessing my wheels are "stable" and theres a lil play and when i hit pothole it seems like they are loose

i have a similar problem as well. its almost like a rattling or loose sound from my drivers side. sometime when i turn the wheel all the way left it makes a clunking sound as well. im in the process of elimination. i just ordered the control arm bushings from the cattman group deal. if anyone finds the definite fix let us know

I had the same problem and I posted on it a long while back. I had a clunk after going over bumps in the road and determined that it wasn't anything rubbing or bumping and took it to the dealership. After the process of elimination (a couple of trips there, some tightening and a new strut), it turned out to be the sway bar end links. One had to be cut off with a torch! Anyway, it was not that big a deal BUT it did take a long time for them to determine that was the problem so if you are having a clunk in the front, have them check that first if you are not under warranty and maybe after they replace both front struts if you are! lol

Good luck!

EDIT:

Here's the link to my original post on it.

I had the same problem and when I replaced my links, the problem was gone.

These are the part numbers for them:

54618-2Y000 Stabilizer Link (Right)
54668-2Y000 Stabilizer Link (Left)

well i just called Nissan, i explained my problem and told him i want the stablizer links and wheel bearings looked at. he said the stablizer links should be done 1st because they commonly cause our cars to, lcunk when you turn the wheel all the way and the clunking type sound when going over bumps. the funny part is he quoted me 260 to get the two front stablizer links put in. is that about right or should i buy them and have somone else put them in?? how much do they go for anyway? thanx in advance

The list price for the stablizer links is like $20.82 for the right side and $37.72 for the left side. With a lift the installation should take like 30 minutes. I believe that $260 is to much, that's why I did my stabilizer links myself.

I'm ordering them and installing myself. I took a good look, they don't look hard to do. Just need a breaker bar and muscle.

I was getting a clunk on my 2k2 when the wheel was all the way to the right, when going slow. I'm running Eibach's and Tokico blues. I sprayed the bottom of the strut where the spring rests, and hit my endlinks with some silicone lube spray, and the sound went away on the spot.
