Optima Yellow Top 34

If you beeches want to get the Optima Yellow Top 34 battery and think it will not fit, YOU ARE WRONG. My battery completely died this am. Got the 34 from Auto Zone for $169.00. It was very easy to install. I know I paid too much for it, but needed one today. If you want a good deal, check out seller (Remy Battery) on ebay.

Pics will come tomorrow

yup...this is the correct size battery for the 5th gens....becuz the positive terminal on the 5th gens have some sort of plastic **** that doesn't allow you to tighten it if the posts are too far in the battery....

i've got a red top on my 2k2....ordered it from remy batteries and specifically asked them to get me the right size batt for my car....since it wasnt listed on the optima site....so they sent me a 34r-75 i think? but it was the wrong one...cuz the posts are too far in....but i needed the battery now so instead of returning it and going thru all the paper work...i just modified my positive terminal to fit over it

Is the pic correct? The positive post is in the correct position for the maxima. Good find!

1078 cold cranking amps registered on my Interstate battery tester I got at work. Its a 34 series battery I got from Remy battery on Ebay. I higly recomend them, my batt was dying this December and after the Optima the car fires up better than it ever did.

My 2 year old optima yellow top died on me over the winter...... Granted the car was sitting for over 6 months and I left the battery in the car (I did try to go start it at least once a month, but even after it was sitting for a month I had to jump it?). I went to put it back on the road this past friday, had to jump it, drove it around for an hour or so, tester said charging system was working fine, turned it off then it wouldnt start. Tested it with my battery tester, dead....

What's the difference between the yellow and the red tops?
BLACKBIRDVQ, where did you get that NISMO cable holder? Looks tight.

GOOD DEAL!! Glad to see you got one. Surprised to see that you got it to fit so well. I had a little trouble with my D34, and no issues at all when I switch to the D75/25, but either way I'm sure you're happy with it, I know I am. Nice setup, and enjoy.

battrery light came on . Going to pick up a new battery from Remy but how do i find him on ebay? that link above doesnt work. Also should i get 75/25 or this "34" size battery? I'm going for the yellow.

I had both and my yellow died on me prematurely but i put it through some serious conditions plus i had major strains on my car which i didnt know where was coming from. Bought both from autozone, the yellow top warranty sucks. How the f*ck does a cheaper battery have a longer warranty. If i was getting from autozone, i would pick up a red just cause of the 3 year warranty but if i'm buying from online where warranty is gonna be a bish, i'll grab the yellow. I may also run to costco for one if they got the proper battery size.

What is the proper battery size again?

that's funny that the yellow top is pulling just as high amperage figures as the red top even though optima tries to advertise them differently..

you should really get a 1 farad or 1.5 farad cap for a large sound system. or a second battery in the trunk, or both to get the best results for extra oomph in bass, and even amperage consistently.

Do you remember who you bought the Ground Kit from? Does your kit come with a voltage stabilizer?

I have been looking on eBay but the only seller with that kit wants $26 for the kit and $28 for shipping(and I need to get it to Canada so even more $$$)

Looking for a seller without such a rediculous shipping charge....

Wire is wire, man. More grounding points for teh win, the wire will not make a difference so long as the gauges are equivalent.

You're just as well off slapping some 1/0 to the chassis and the battery negative. End of story.

How much wire is required for the BIG 3? I'm about to purchase some things and figure I might as well get it all together. (Planning on 1/0)

Thanks!

Not much at all. I would say no more than 10ft. I highly recommend purchasing the wire from KnuKonceptz.com. AWESOME wire at a great price.

+1 for knukonceptz wire! i bought my power, ground, and speaker wire for my system install from them. i also bought rca's which are so-so. the ends rip off very easy. it makes it even harder feeding rca's though tight areas.

my power wire is 0 gauge and still very flexible

They're out of stock of 4 gauge and their only distro block for 1/0 input outputs 4 gauge. Any recommendations?
