i just wanted some input on them before i bought them though. i know they dont compare anywhere near HIDs...but are there ANY positive sides to em or are they just for aesthetic purposes?
right now only my fogs work, my left blinker is real hyper and my right blinker doesnt even work at night when my gauges are lit...im guessing my fusebox or something got a lil screwd up when they pulled all the wiires out

please help me out..where to buy who to buy from and the advantages and disadvantages of the 2000 projector aftermarket headlights. my car is grey lustre..ill prolly get the black housing..clear lens.
what BULBS should i get with em? led turn signals silverstar headlight bulbs? i know that low beam is H3 too which is worse than the H4 beam pattern..
sorry for the long post..i. just need some h elp
thanks in advancce...

if you go aftermarket with projectors, dont you think they will steal them faster? Thiefs know their stuff sometimes and leaving your car out there is not a good idea i learned the real hard way.....

Especially when your car look nice!

Trust me, this is from experience.
Do not get the projector headlights from Ebay or Custommaxima.
Though they may look nice on the outside, your light output will suck TREMENDOUSLY.
I bought the projectors, and sold them after 2 months because I can never see the road, ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAYS.
Im also from Queens NY, and when I had my projectors, people actually thought they were hids and tried to steal em. They never succeeded, but the side of my car has heavy deep scratches. So if you do decide to get them, you have 2 things to worry about. Good luck.

You go to the forum section "Maxima parts for sale", the guys on the Org will sell oem 00-01 headlights for a pretty cheap price. And trust me, people really don't want to steal 00-01 OEM headlights. I mean, what are they going to do with it? I doubt that they want spares.

Actually, if you are interested in getting OEM headlights, I will sell you mine cheap. I have 02-03 hids and do not need them anymore.

Just do not get the projector headlights. There are tons, and I mean TONS of threads about this. They really have a bad output.

Raf, i got OEM 2k1 headlights (non AE) laying around my garage. The only thing is the corners have holes for strobes (good if you got strobes or are gonna get them) Make me a offer or something and pick em up from my garage if you want them.

I wouldn't recommend the prjectors unless you are doing a retrofit to replace the h3's projector itself with oems or hid oems. Also, I really think someone must have followed you home because they must have seen your light output. I would just go with AE headlights and stick with halogen bulbs. Anyways, here is a link to the projectors with an oem projector retro.

I honestly think you should get regular 2k headlights, AE them, and just leave them alone. Do not put anymore HIDS. First of all, how can one tell if you got HIDS in a 2k headlight housing? I've had HIDS in my 2k headlight housing for past 2 years, no one touched my lights. It had to be a inside job, someone that knows you. Right now I have 2k2 headlights and believe me, I always garage my car or valet park. Anyway, don't get HIDS anymore, you'll always be a target now. Stick with regular headlights.

Sam.

Good Point,

I suggest you turn your HIDs off and drive with your fogs when you are around your house, Youll be suprise how many thiefs live around you!!

Having those real bright HIDs in queens without a secure parking is a no no!

when i had my rims i was so freaked that i was always pulling in, stealth mode in my parking spot, no lights no music and very fast..... anything like that will call attention

Just trying to help you out

Thanks Mike, man you guys should just move from NJ, i dont think i've heard anyone from chicago say their hids or 2k2-2k3 headlights got stollen, or just eppxy in your headlights so they dont get stollen, or set up a trap, catch the ****er that steals em and then do whatever you want to em. for example, torture, 1000 paper cuts, chinese water torture techinique, cut his hands and feet off, this is just example not as any of this has ever or will/it should/ happen to these guys cause the cops wouldnt do anything and he'd probably get is 6 months gets out after 3 or might get of with a fine.

HIDs where getting stolen from the dealers when the cars came out here in Chicago, Woodfield Nissan got jacked out of 20 cars in their lot with no damage to the cars. Each hood was carefully opened and headlights removed. I haven't heard any other Maximas getting their lights ripped out thou, knock on wood. Looks like wherever U live you are a VICTIM.

get the anniversary edition headlights n some hyperwhite bulbs- i too thought of swapping mine to the angel eyes or hid's but since hearing all this stealing and theifing goin on with these, i know why they call em "angel eyes" now! you practically need an "angel" to keep an "eye" on your call at all times! good luck sorry bout them stealin your 00 stock headlights, cant do much with those anyway, i wonder if they knew they didnt get the hid pair!

It seems the the data dots/brackets only contribute to the HID theives causing more damage in the theft process rather than actually deterring them. End result: they may get one headlamp and severely damage the body area around that headlamp....as opposed to typical HID theft damage and both headlights. It's a lose-lose scenario.

My wife loves the 5.5G Maxima but wants me to trade up because of this (although I've never been a victim ). However, any car with HIDs is a target AND the only other cars I like have HIDs. (Another lose-lose scenario for me!!)

I have the projector lights in my car, and love them. Although the output doesn't come close to hid, i believe that it does come close to oem 2k lights.. but with a few hotspots. I plan on swapping the projector lenses for some X5/e39 projectors as soon as i save up enough money to get osram d2s bulbs and phillips ballasts along with them. The projectors are nicer looking that the AE headlights, and are upgradable if you decide to go the HID route. If you DO go the hid route... do NOT get another kit like you previously had. Do a retro and see how much better you'll like your car. Best of luck

I bought them off of ebay for $205. The company that auctioned them is called revotec, based out of california. As far as i've seen, all of these projector headlights come from the same manufacturer, whether you get them from Custom Enterprise.. but that's just what i've heard. I'm very happy with the revotec lights
