Brake system and driving style....

Not to disrespect any threads that may exist that I didn't find, but I found but one on brake rotor and pad replacement in the stickies. I'm an enthusiastic max owner that wishes not to spend 800 bones at some crap shop to replace my pads and rotors with crap parts. I already know we have group deals on Brembo rotors and Axiss pads. And although I love tinkering mechanically, I've not so much tinkering experience on cars save my fluids, plugs, etc. I'm not a racer, but I bought my 01 SE for its confidence and comfortable ability to provide when I need. I've unfortunately from 10k on found the brakes to be a terribly weak link in an otherwise great machine. What I fail to understand is how GM cars that weigh just as much but suck, seem to not have all these warped rotors, braking issues as the illustrious max. Seriously, what gives? These guys have honeycomb rotors? We don't?

I want to replace my rotors and pads myself, and I think given my driving style I want Brembo Blanks, and Axiss Pads. Can someone provide me a link or other, or advice, to guide this coming weekend of blissful purchases and upgrades?

I apologize if I've not found what I searched for already, but there's not a "search" function available.

safe driving....

ted

1. So far, I've found the Hawk HPS to be the best overall pads for aggressive daily driving (and I've used several on this car and others).

2. check out this link, you might be interested:

warped rotor

on my trip back from ny to north carolina my back passenger rotor started squealing.....i stopped pulled the tire off and the brake pads look fine i got 36000 on my car ....the car dosent just squeal when i hit the brakes so is this a warped rotor? if i replace that rotor should i replace both back rotor and brake pads?
