Painting the car

I am planning on calling around, but I thought I would ask if anyone here knew a good company that is in most states that does a good job on paint and not charge a super high price. I don't want any $600 dollar maaco job, but I don't want a $6000 dollar job either.. Thanks in advance, I just want to find out place and prices.. (If its possible)

Either just a really dark like tar black with a glossy finish, or a blueish color that would look good with tan interior.. What color do you guys think would look good with a tan interior?

Any particular reason why you want a nationwide shop? It is no guarantee of uniformity. Maaco shops are independently run, not a chain or network, so what you get at one does not translate to another. Earl Scheib is the only other national one I know of (or at least I think so). Your best bet may be to find a highly recommended local shop. Check in the regional forums. Good luck.

Wow, painting the whole thing. I would go for something that would match kind of when you open the doors... i have been thinking of getting my 00 painted in red like the Custom Enterprise Max, but...I didn't know how expensive it could be. If I were you I would just go shop it.

You should shop around locally for a shop, nothing that is nationwide. Also, if you are going to roll out the dough, make sure you find out what kind of paint they will be using. I would recommend House of Kolor or PPG...two outstanding, proven brands.

RED!!! Please DON'T, I have to stare at all my retarded(and annoying) neighbors' red vehicles and I do not want to have to stare at one that's on the forum.

I will most likely take it to a local shop that supposedly does a good job, I was just seeing if there are any good nationwide places that usually do an A+ job..

My college car was painted at Maaco and I was VERY pleased with the work they did. While I was there, I also saw an Audi repainted this gorgeous black sparkle paint...they guy proceeded to tell me that the whole thing for the Audi run about $3,000, which is what it will cost with the right paint.

All in all, it's going to cost your a few grand to get it painted right...this is one job you don't want to cut corners on!!!!!

In all seriousness, if you get it painted with something such as House of Kolor, the primer/paint/clearcoat should run you from $500 - $800...the rest is labor, which is up to them.

I just changed my car description to Sunlit Sand from Beige because it sounds better. I believe red looks good on coupe sports cars or fire trucks but not on classy sedans like our Maximas'
