I just bought a 2001 SE Automatic. I would like to increase the power but my wife doesn't want it to get any louder. Women!?!? I think I should be safe with a new air filter. I wanted a y-pipe but I think that will make it kind of loud. A supercharger will only cause a little noise in the low RPMs. Do you guys have any suggestions?

Welcome to the family

The first thing people here will tell you is to check the stickies at the top of the forum, especially the parts list. Should have most of what you need. Then, from the main maxima.org page, check the FAQ which will answer the basic perfomance mod questions.

When all else fails, go ahead and ask. The folks here will generally appreciate some leg work on your part before asking questions but don't sweat it. It's a great crew up here.

Cheers!

You're not gonna get more power without increasing noise. You can do OSCAI and get a few hp and thats about it.
