Uneven torque on brake calipur bolts may cause warped rotor??

just wondering if it's true or not

i know overtorquing can lead to warping so i would not see why uneven would not cause the same given the difference was more than just a few ft lbs.

In a word, no.
The stock calipers on our cars are single-piston 'floating' calipers, meaning the piston is just on one side and the whole caliper moves a bit within its 'cage' so as to grip both sides of the rotor evenly......torque at the two caliper 'cage' (mounting bracket) mounting bolts is immaterial to warping..

However, uneven torque of the wheel lugnuts WILL warp the rotors.

my fault. i should do a better job of reading before answering. i thought the thread was about lugnuts. that is what i get for being on here and trying to work at the same time.
