Question about transmission

Ok, so I come home and park the car. I go to move the shifter into P but it was a little tight and I had to PUSH it in. Is this a sign of anything or am I just paranoid?

Thing is, I was already at a complete stop. I already had the shifter in R. Yea, I think I'm just going paranoid after seeing all these 5.5 Gens with blown trannies.

I'd say you are paranoid.

unless you were parked uphill/downhill on your driveway or what not, you may have had an hard time pushin it into "P". other than that i would recommend a trans flush. but nothing to be concerned/paranoid majorly about. when you notice gears slipping when you're driving, then you can become paranoid! check your trans fluid and if its still red, you're pretty much all good, but if it looks dark, time to change its tranny diaper! good luck player!

I had the same thing happen to me in my millenia on a hill yesterday. Very hard to put in Park, then it was hard to engage into 2nd. The transmission is junk in millenia's anyway. I'm hoping to get a 2002-3 6 speed Maxima soon.

Could there be a plunger that is activated by depressing the brake that needs to be lubed?
