Re Painted Brakes

Well since the weather has finally cleared and warmed up I decided to re Paint the Brake Calipers with an added twist. I put Nissan on them, Can't afford the big brake upgrade so well its the next best thing. So what does everyone think?

Looks nice, IMO a darker red would definitely be better. I"m planning to do the same thing on mine when it's not all raining and such, how did you get the 'nissan' words on there?

Those are the OEM Calipers and they fit just fine over the X Drilled Rotors.

I think that it looks good. I've got mine done silver. I like the idea of the logo. Not all of us have the $1900 to drop on a big brake kit. I hear ya man.

I like the sticker idea, but how long will the sticker last on the caliber since it is going to get heat from the brakes, get wet, etc?

Very nice... a write up would be nice too. Painted mine black abut seriously thinking about going to silver. The NISSAN in black on the silver would look sharp.

Well, very easy!! My friends shop has a vinyl machine that can make any kind of sticker with all different types of colors and also thickness. So after painting the calipers we decided to try the vinyl sticker thing to see if it works. I know the heat of the brakes and calipers is intense. But if it works then I am happy, if not what I have planned is to paint the calipers gold, take the outline of the nissan sticker and paint that red. So either way would be fine for me. This is just a test case which i am hoping works. We will surely see. Thanks everyone for the shout outs. I'll keep everyone informed on how the stickers handle the brake heat!!

you have to clear coat it.... put a couple of coats of clear anamel 500 degree for calipers..... at your local auto zone or pep boys..

clean caliper, paint it, put decals on it, clear coat it, let it sit for a few hours before use..

I just painted my calipers too with Zero Rust paint. I love this paint. You don't even have to remove the rust if you don't want to and it can handle about 400 degrees. Not bad. I bought several cans in black since I live in NY and sprayed everything under my car that had any surface rust. The paint bonds to rust and neutralizes it but I still wired the rust off as much as I could. I read of people painting rusted horseshoes and after 2 years being left outside the rust didn't come back. I bought one can in gray to do my calipers. I like the final result. My daughter suggested yellow and I almost did red but then decided I wanted something that blended more.
