k&N drop in

i noticed that my K&N drop in dosent fit as snugly as the filter that came with the car. for instance mine fits right, but pops on and off the filter element easily. is this a cause for concern?

Go buy some rubber shims....home depot prob has them, maybe even the auto parts store that sold you the filter will have something like it. You need to use those shims to seal the filter from letting dust blow by. Main concerns could be a blown MAF and possibly more.

Mine came with instructions on where to stick the included rubber shims...that it didn't come with. I called K&N and they mailed them to me. I think there are 2 pieces about 2 inches long each that you put...somewhere. I think it's time I open it up and check.

Sounds like a lot of work to comb through every thread to eliminate meaningless posts, especially when there are plenty of repeated/meaningless threads.
Have fun, good luck.
