KSport Kontrol Coilovers vs. Tein SS Coilovers

Anyone able to state the advantages/disadvantages of both? Looking to purchase a coilover kit anytime now. Just not sure if the TEIN SS are worth the extra $. Thanks!

i have the D2's that are very similar to the KSports and they are great. i had the KSports in my hands along with the D2's and i decided on the D2's for a couple of reasons. however, the KSports were nice, i just liked the D2's better.

What exactly did you like more about the D2's over the Ksports?

the entire slider on the strut is covered by the dust boot rather than just the bottom (protects it better) and the fronts have two alan screws to secure the lower mount rather than just a lock nut.

another obvious difference between the TEIN SS and the D2/KSPORTs is seperate height adjusters.....the D2/KSPORT has seperate height adjustment+preload....while the TEIN SS has no seperate height adjusting and must lower through the two spring collers....

this means that you can slam the D2/KSPORT coilovers 4 inches from stock, while retaining suspension travel.....as opposed to the TEIN SS where u slam it 4 inches....you won't have much suspension travel left...

IMO the EDFC is a waste of $350...to adjust dampening on coilovers....one will only take a maximum of 2 minutes to do all 4 corners.....the fronts will only take like 15 seconds to do becuz its right in the engine bay....the rears will take about a minute and half....since u must fold down your rear seats and put yer fingers in a real tight spot..hence the extra time compared to the fronts...however it is still an easy task...

Steven, so are you planning on purchasing these ksport coilovers or the D2's? I'm really considering the ksports but I'm still not sure which one of the 2 is better to go with. But right now, I'm leaning towards the ksports.

IMO the edfc is a waste like steve said it doesnt take rocket science or a buttload of time to adjust them

I have the D2s on my car right now...they are alright....I guess i say they are alright becuz they do make some noise....other than dat...they are awesome....real smooth...even on stiff setting and my low profile tires....and taking twisties in this car has never been this much fun....but I'd say go with the Ksports...only becuz people around here say it makes less noise than the D2s

I agree with Steve88 about the EDFC. It's just more money, more to go wrong, and more WEIGHT.

i have them in and they made a clicking on the front passengers side and i removed the little amount of pre-load on the spring and it is gone.
