Thanks

Performance: Intake, Y-Pipe

I know this isn't performance, but Rear Sway Bar is helpful along with a drop, tint, clear corners.. Other members will have other stuff to recommend..

my first prformance mod was an intake, than y-pipe, than catback, and Valve Body Mod w/tranny cooler. My favorite out of all of those is the VB mod

y-pipe will be the best $$ you'll ever spend on your 3.0

Do some searchin on here and you will find all the information you need.

before this turns into a convoluted monster thread, I suggest you check out this link, which might give you some good background to start with, especially the engine, exhaust, and intake sections

um....how exactly is a RSB and springs/struts (i.e. drop) not "performance"??? Last I checked, suspension upgrades improve the performance of the car, but in a handling sense, not a accelleration sense.

brake upgrades are performance too, as are tire upgrades, frame stiffening, etc.

HP is not the only thing that is "performance" as many here seem to think

Take a 2000 SE maxima with just an intake, y-pipe, and exhaust to a nice curvy road and I will take my car with only an intake and suspension upgrades and show you some performance when you try to keep up with me in the curvies

Figure out what you want to do with your car first. Is it a daily-driver? A toy? Are you gonna drag it? Are you looking for something to whip around corners? Your best bet is to get a K&N panel filter ($50 I think) replacement first. Then get a rear sway bar (seen them for $100 on E-bay) Then a Front strut tower brace (real cheap on E-bay $40). Those are three things that you cannot live without, and all those mods will help you out later if you decide to alter the car more, and they are relatively cheap in the scheme of things, and will compliment some of the other upgrades. Then you can look into Y-pipes, midpipes, and VB transmission mods (for quicker shifts). You could go for springs, struts, brakes, and tires/rims . Some people buy their tires and rims first for better overall handling. Look at your budget, and remember labor costs, if you can't do it yourself. And after that the list goes on, and on, and on, and your pockets get smaller, and smaller, and smaller. Have fun dude!

I've heard that the VB mod works, but I drive a stick, so I never needed to look into it. Is it Max Tuning that does it? Check out the VB mod on the google search for the forum.
