My stock intake owns ALL of you.

Finally got pictures up of my completed install - as you can see for yourself. Just by porting the stock airbox the way I did gives me the exact same growl you've all been looking for, and I'll bet money on it.

The system is a Zex 75 shot wet kit (hope to move to 100 shot soon, and blubyu2k2 gave me the well thoughtout midpipe he designed specially made for the fogger nozzle. As far as impressions go, all I have to say is this VQ comes alive.

I posted this here to give you an idea of an intake setup that will not lose lowend torque and still get that same growl. The rest is up to you to put it together.

Here's my Activation Switch (looks stock don't it) which has a Bright Blue LED that lights up my whole cabin. Also a pic of my Purple Venom.

Very nice. Seriously, how reliable and safe (for the motor) is that nitrous system?? I've always been curious about nitrous.

With the right equipment and knowledge of operation, nitrous can be a very effective mod. With new technology these days and the precautions, you can run nitrous pretty safely unless you're out to just tear something up.

If you read up in the nitrous forum just reading what those guys post and asking questions, you'll want to spray more and more. Best word of advice is to read up and ask what you don't know or understand.

Word of caution....Spraying can be addictive. I've fallen into that pit already.

Besides the fact that it is a sloppy install and a Zex kit, I like it.

that's just a more ghetto version of the gab. aside from the naws your texas chainsaw massacre intake probably provides the same improvement as a coathanger gab. except you cannot go back to stock easily - and probably wouldn't want to anyway.

Very creative, did you do the install of yourself? I'd tighten up the cuts on the GAB. Once you clean up that it will look pretty sharp. Good job, I've thought about some type of juice but will wait till I get further down the road as fas as miles and warrranty.

Iz ok.....you won't see the install through the rear of the car anywayz Mr. guy......

Really, I wanted the NX kit, but got a great deal on this Zex. I'll clean it up later, right now I'm concerned about functionality.

Works great, sounds even better. If I'm accelerating all motor, it gives that growl from the intake everyone likes. But the sound changes with spray. Kinda the same growl but, it's fast forwarded. Hard to explain but does sound good.

I know right.....all that mattered was that I didn't loose any lowend torque, which this works great.

Pretty much, with a little help of blubyu and sloppymax. They hacked up my box for me, with my dull hacksaw. I'll file it down here later.

That's what I did was wait for my warranty to run out to install. I still have the extended, but I should have all the little kinks out of it now. I made sure to take it in for everything before it ran out. I think I got my monies worth. Now if anything goes wrong, I have to uninstall everything before I take it in. That's why it's all convienent to get to, so it's easier.

since i only have a vague recollection of what the stock airbox looks like, all you did was cut open the top and cut those 2 holes in the front? thats it? or does his special pipe there help the sound/gains too?

once that filter wears out, try with a K&N and see what that does for ya. maybe we can call this the GAB2.

That's right. Plus it might look odd cause I removed the Snorkle also. That midpipe does make a change in sound. For the better, before the growl was there, now it's just more defined.

That's what I wanted to do when the time comes to replace the filter. I should call it Ghetto Rigged.

Glad you like the kit man

I was gonna throw it on my Max, but since I'm already at 75k and not so sure how much longer my clutch will hold up I decided to sell it. It sucks being a college student and not having much extra money.

The setup looks good; a little sloppy, but as long as it works.

LOL.......The airbox, can't really do much about except file the top straight. It does look sloppy, but those steel braided lines want to move whereever they want to. I'll just ziptie them to something, maybe that will help. You can't even see the rest of the engine bay, but I removed the 3.5 cover also to relieve the heat trapped under it, so it looks pretty raw.

Love the kit, thanks again. I'm sure you'll get another one in the future. I did have something wrong this weekend. Went to fill the bottle and it wouldn't spray. 2 days later come to find out that the TPS wire that I had to extend had come out of the butt connector. Once I connected it, I was back in business. Stupid me.

Whatever makes you Happy about your GAB, but doesnt the nitrous nozzle need to be 6 inches away from the throttle body. Or it might just be the pic. ALso tell us more about the NOS how do you like it, how is the power...

The nozzle is about 6 inches away, maybe more toward 7 or 8, but it's fine where it is. I'm loving it, I was told that I'd want to move up to 100 shot after about a week. I'm going to be safe and get the 255ml fuel pump first, then move up. Basically, give me a couple weeks.....
I'll be honest, I don't think I've like any other mod more. I don't have headers, and that's coming soon. I don't spray everytime I get in the car, even though I have the itch to. I usually run out of road with the traffic here to spray past 3rd gear, but cut loose when there's no traffic. With my HLSD, I don't have wheel spin issues spraying out of the hole. It still spins, but it grabs/chirps/grabs/chirps/grabs/goes. It's like being in a completely different car.....much faster car.

^^ I like how your setup looks. It'd be nice if I could find a good place to mount my NMU. With the airbox in the way, I really don't have a good spot. I guess it'll stay ghetto until I find a place. Looks great!

I also see that you have a Nitrous Pressure Gauge on your pillar. Did you run a nitrous line in the cabin to the gauge? How safe is that?
