Need help to put my brakes back together (link to pic added)

I have an 02 and I'm putting new rotors and pads on. I have it all a part right now and just noticed that the slide pins that hold the calipers on the front are different. One of the 2 on each sides has rubber on it. I didn't notice when I took it all a part and now I don't know which one goes in which hole (top or bottom). If any one knows what I'm talking about and remembers where it goes please help.. I took a pic and I will get it on here just might take a little while.
thanks..

Hey wavedog, it goes in the left hole. How do you know which part is right or left ? Just look at the metal part exactly the way it should be installed then the left hole is obvious.

Cheers
