Pics of my max.

Hey guys, I finally finished installed my most recents mods: D2 Coilover, Lower Tie Bar, Energy Suspension bushing, Big brake( SS corp ), Falken FK451 tire in 235-45-17, chrome brake in the rear with new rotors, Yellow optima battery, Carbon fiber door pilar and mirror cover. The car is running awesomely well, I just need to lower the D2 1" more inche all around and get the car aligned. I have absolutely no noise coming from the D2, I never felt the max so tight. Here is some pics:

Looks good. I personally would've gone with 18's, but it still looks real good. Nice job!

Well the 17" are fairly light wheel and because of crappy road here running on 35 - 40 series on 18 or 19 " can be costly, so I'm sticking with my 17" for now.
Thank you for the compliment.

looks good, though the exhaust pipes seem to stick out a little far...may just be the picture though.....like the brakes, and good to see someone buying wheels for practical reasons (potholes, lightness) instead of caving to peer pressure to get 19's and all that

The rear caliper where bought at the salvage yard, I had them sandblasted and triple chrome process at a place call GG Buffing, it cost me about 600$ CDN for the show chrome.

As for the PT muffler, I'll be switching for the Cattman muffler as soon as it arrive. When I bought the PT muffler 2 years ago, looking at the pics I though the tips where 2.5" I admit they look a little oversize to my taste too.

The bug deflector, which I hate but it hide the damage hood, I will soon buy a CF hood and get rid of it.

I was thinking of buying new rim but that will have to wait until next year and I'll probably buy some 18 x 8.5

I believe you can drop like 3.5" all around, as far as I'm concern I want to drop the car so it will be even with the tire. For the setting there was no explanation sheet on the box, so I will have to play with in order to better understand, now it is set at 3, it is stiff but that's the way I like it. As for the ride, my car is on rail I mean with all the suspension mods I have ( D2, ES Bushing, RSB, FSTB, LTB ) I just need to get the car align tommorow and enjoy the ride for the summer.

Cheers

If you plan on keeping the original halogen 2k headlight, you may want to try the Silverstar bulb or PIAA, I think they are the most common used by max owner. This is very easy to change bulb in the headlamp, it defenitely worth over the stock one.

Hey PearlWhtMaX2000, painting would have cost way much less, chroming is an electro chemical reaction process, it is done in 3 steps, copper plating then nickel plating and finally chrome plating. Tha cost me 600$ canadian ( 500$ US ) just for the chrome plating, I spent 80$ to have a shop to sandblast both caliper, then another 60-70$ for the rebuild kit. Chrome paint would have cost much less but it's no as resistant as the chrome plating.

Hey guys, I drop the car a little more today, the car was also re-align so now the fender are flush with the top of the tire, the look is awesome. The only draw back is the Lower Tie Bar sitting very low, actually I scrape the road 2-3 times today so I'm going to remove it and see If we can modify it to re-gain at least 2-3 inches of clearance otherwise it will have to go. I'll take some new pics tommorow.

Cheers

HEY guys, here some night shot of my new drop. The car is litterally on rail,
definitely not for the faint at heart... With Matt's Lower Tie Bar I have maybe 3-4 inches of travel maximum, I have to drive the max carefully to not scrape, the suspension is very stiff but man this car stick to the road like I never though it would. I'm leaving for a family meet in springfiled MA for the week-end, but next week I'm going to remove the LTB and modify it so I can regain 2-3 inches of travel, it sit about 3 inches lower than the subframe then it will be perfect. With the bushing, I would say everything is thigher and you feel the car is much together if that make sense. I know I can push the car to level it was not possible before and it will stick to the road and is very predictable. With all the mods I did lately I have the feeling I'm driving a different car. Next on my list is the Cattman muffler on it's way and the Cattman headers when available.

Here is the pics:
